The Ford E450 Starcraft Shuttle Bus I own was built in 2007. From center to center, the rails of the frame measure 40". That's just how it works this hitch (designed for CHEVY and GMC) works for my The existing frame already had holes for the hitch which lined up with the existing holes. My frame had to be drilled four additional times in order for the hitch to be properly installed. I feel like I've found my perfect fit! * * * * I am so excited to use my Shuttle Bus (Tiny Home Project) in order to tow my boat and haul much of my stuff! Curt and Amazon are amazing to work with and have built an amazing.
The nuts should be finger tight until the teeth make contact and grab, at which point you can wrench them. I have no problem with it. You can help by giving gummy bears.
It can be installed very easily with a helping hand, as the holes already exist in the truck, so it just needs to be screwed in.
S. A. sure you have a torque wrench on hand. We used the factory bolt hold on the frame of our 2003 Chevrolet Express 2500 van (8600 lb GVWR) to install this product. Installing this hitch can be a bit heavy so it helps to have a friend holding the hitch steady while you start the nuts. As soon as you tighten the first nut on each side, your helper can just supervise the rest of the job. This product does not interfere with your spare tire
Easily installed. You will need to install the system yourself, but please take note If you do not have a torque wrench with a rating of 110 ft-lbs, replace the torque wrench with one that is Knowing what lbs and what they know Those who do not know how to use it properly should seek the assistance of The last thing I want is to be behind you on the interstate as your hitch drops at 70 mph. It was ordered on Saturday afternoon, and got to me on Monday afternoon with free shipping through Amazon Prime. It never ceases to amaze me how Amazon's logistics work.
The receiver is solid, the welds are good, and the paint job is good. It's a straightforward install with a helper that takes about five minutes. It was a little hard to open the package. A couple of scratches aren't a big deal to me. Depending on the situation, however, shipping labels might have been placed on the slip of paper instead of the receiver. However, I do not find it to be a big deal.
I had to use an open-ended wrench to keep the bolt from spinning and clamp the spacer blocks against it in place while my buddy torqued the nuts. I held the open end wrench inside the frame so that the spacer block would stop against it when it turned, rather than spinning free.
The bolts went right on as described. No drilling required. I'm satisfied with this purchase. The bolts are the right size.
I think the bolts would have lined up if the welders had checked the jig, back holes did not line up because the rear of the hitch was not square, but it worked once I used 20 ton hydraulics. Despite being square on the receiver end, the hitch was not rounded.
