Your hitch and your bike rack will determine whether you'll be able to tow. A pin is the only thing that goes through both the bike rack and the hitch to lock this adaptor in. It's only two large holes in this adaptor.

It might be better to tighten the fit for people who are very heavy

The heavy insert we used turned out great, but it was a little loose in the hitch, and we had to add an extra hole to make it fit.

Use on a 1 if possible. The bike rack was 25" wide but needed to fit into a 2" receiver. What it's designed to do, it does. This is a simple piece of metal with little else to say.
