Weight carrying (WC) and weight distributing (WD) Class III hitches are available, depending on the vehicle and hitch specification. Class III hitches are not all rated both at the same time. This information can be found in the specific hitch. A Class III hitch is rated up to 6000 lbs of weight carrying capacity. The gross trailer weight (GTW) is 600 pounds, and the maximum tongue weight (TW) is 300 pounds. A Class III hitch used for weight distribution is rated for up to 10,000 pounds. Gross trailer weight (GTW) is determined by using maximum tongue weight (TW) of 1000 pounds. There is usually a 2" square opening on the Class III hitch. In the United States, a higher class drawbar does not increase the towing capacity of a trailer For this class of hitch to be used for weight distribution, a weight distribution system is required. Hitches fitted to Class III vehicles are only attached to the frame of the vehicle

It is important to measure how much clearance you have before the extension hits the bumper when you are buying it for an RV that holds a sewer hose. My only option is to use a small hitch pin to hold the receiver in place, but I'm tempted to cut off about 1 inch of the upper extension in order to allow the receiver to slide back far enough to use a standard hitch pin. I love this idea of this hitch and hope it works correctly since I want to tow the boat as well as use it as a bike rack at the same time. There is still a lot of time before we know.
My 4-year-old daughter and I bought this so we could carry our baby While pulling a tent trailer, you can mount a bike rack on the hitch. It seems to be a top-notch construction The device performs very well and is of high quality. It is better to use this style of trailer hitch rather than an alternative with two 2" openings (for inserting both a rack AND a hitch), since it keeps the trailer closer to the tow vehicle. I would like to emphasize that everything fits perfectly, though the rack must be installed after the trailer is hitched. The bikes need to be mounted with a little bit of creativity, as there is not a large space between the back of the rack and the front of the trailer. However, once they're attached to the trailer, it works perfectly. When a tent trailer is added to a hitch, the size of the turning radius is not compromised and the weight of four bicycles isn't enough to compromise the hitch weight rating. I am very pleased with the.
For the price, it's a good buy. There is a slight out of plumb issue with the unit I received. This means that when installed, the cargo carrier I use for this piece is noticeably canted. In my opinion, this should not cause me any problems, and since I do not know what the manufacturer's tolerances are, I may not be able to exchange the unit. I wouldn't mind living with it if it looked a little funny.
A super job.
With a trailer hitch and a step bumper, I can tow and have a step bumper at the same time.
It had to be ordered again since it was a little too short.
That was the only thing I had to return. We wouldn't be able to use it on our motorhome. As a result, the male bar is short, and the upper receiver runs into the bumper before the male bar is in the receiver far enough to push the 5/8 retaining pin through. It might have been easy for me to figure out this before purchasing it if I had read the diagram measurements provided. It took me awhile to pick out a dual mount, but in the end I went with CURT. The bike rack had to be repositioned so that the brake system on our tow dolly did not hit it. There's no easy way to do it. A 15% restocking fee was charged on the return and I had to pay shipping back. Stupid tax, that's what you could call it.
It was a complete success,.
