Questions & Answers

Can this hitch be used with a 2011 Colorado?

You need to know how your Colorado's bumper is designed to determine whether this bumper fits it or not. It helps to know that the mounting plate has a 1/4" thick, 14" wide, and 5" deep dimensions. It's like a heavy duty hitch and, in my opinion, it's a very good buy for the price. Think of a flat piece of 14" x 5" plate attached to the underneath of your bumper by bolts (or welding). Here is a translation that may be helpful.

Can the hitch be mounted with the screws and washers that are included?

The mount is extremely strong, made by using two 3/4" hardened bolts with lock washers. Even though I had to round the file a little, I felt it was worth it for the extra strength.

Do the holes for the mounting holes differ by 8 inches?

Each slot is marked with a slotted hole. There is an eight-inch distance between the three in the center.

Can the hitch be used with a Toyota Tundra 2002?

The one I customized for a Chevrolet pick-up fits any truck that has a standard bumper with three holes so long as it has the rounded plastic bumper with the holes.

It is not possible to mount it due to insufficient hole size
4/5

My rating for this product is four stars because it is decently built and finished. I had to trim the sides along the plate's length since it is too wide for my application, but that was expected. One of the things that made it annoying for me was that it didn't have hardware and the holes didn't allow for a 3/4 inch bolt. Since I didn't want to use 5/8, I bought grade 8 bolts 3/4 inch and expanded the holes to fit them. I have no idea why the holes were made smaller than 3/4 unless the designers expected people to use metric measurements. The 79 F250 is the intended application, so any metric bolts would not be necessary. If it had been a newer vehicle, I would have had no problem Summary of

If you plan to use 3/4 inch bolts, you will have to modify the holes. You won't find any instructions with this product, so if you need them you won't find them here. It might have helped if these guys had looked at other brands that included the bolts. Maybe if they had, they would know the 3/4 in bolt won't.

The pro's are Features *Price**Quality/Durability**Size**Universal**Cons This 2" tube receiver hitch for a step bumper fits almost any vehicle (except Dodge 1989's and 1990's). It features a linear bolt pattern, so there is no need to drill your In addition, I had to drill, but it was really no big deal, as I just grabbed my 3/4" drill bit and set to work. While the pre-election is notable, there are a few important things to note Because the holes on the hitch itself are stamped and not drilled, they are to fit a 3/4" bolt but due to the anti-rust paint and the fact that they are stamped, they are designed to fit an 11/16" bolt that was phased out in the 1950's. With your 3/4" bit, you will need to ream out the stamped holes on the hitch slightly. To complete the bolt system, you will need 4 3/4" shank bolts, 4 washers, 4 locking washers, and 4 nuts. This is extremely simple, so if you don't understand it, do not attempt to tow It is also important to note that the above For information, the receiver tube is made of 1/2-inch steel, and the hitch plate is made of 1/4-inch stainless steel that is welded all around to support the tongue weight of 500 pounds as well as the trailer weight of 5000 pounds. Here is a translation that may be helpful. Also almost forgot to mention, I drive a 1969 Ford Falcon There were no bumpers on the 250 and in those days and age, dealers offered them as a service. A universal hitch is basically a universal hitch. We measured our step and bumper first because we stated the measurements under the product description were correct. Don't be an idiot and measure your step and bumper first!.

A simple replacement for the bumper - This ball was one I never liked (which I had)
4/5

So far I have not towed it, but it bolted right up to the holes on the bumper in less than two An online review recommended grinding off the powder coat so that 3/4 bolts could be used. While I am not sure about him, I believe I would have needed to remove METAL to fit three-quarter bolts into Bolts graded 8 5/8 are the best choice for me. Although I plan on towing only Class II trailers, I believe it would be great for Class III trailers too. If you overtighten, you will bend the flare on the bottom of the bumper and the hitch will become unbalanced. A bit at a time, I tightened them until I reached a LITTLE bend, and then I For the top and bottom, I used flat washers, and under the nut I utilized a locking washer. It will serve its purpose well, and it is a lot less expensive than a full-scale aircraft The receiver is mounted to the frame ($300+ when My view is that it will be very good, and I will update when it is in service. Also, the bolt size is the reason for removing a star from the rating. Big Rock, if you expanded those slots to hold 3/4 bolts, you would get 5 stars (depending on how they are used).

Bolt-on hitch with a strong construction
3/5

Despite my best efforts, the hitch did not come with mounting bolts, and the bolt holes needed to be drilled out so that the proper size bolts could be inserted, which I had to buy I ordered this from Lowe's (not available at Home Depot)
It is easy to install and does the job I wanted it to.

I am very pleased with the hitch
5/5

It came with a 2012 Toyota Tacoma when I bought it. of the dock bumper perfectly line up with the holes in the It was necessary for me to file the slots at the bolt site about 1/8 inch deep so I could use 3/4 x 3" bolts (not included). It is possible to put the center bumper plug back on the dock bumper cover, but not the two side plugs. In order to fit the plastic cover, you will need to cut a small 3" x 1/2" notch that fits the centre of the receiver. (A coat of black spray paint will cover the plastic cover). After removing the old ball and installing the new plate, it took about an hour to complete the job. It looks great, and I hope it does a good job of towing my 800 pound boat and protecting my bumper from damage.

This is a good item

an in-charge rack welded for a receiver hitch, but then I realized I didn't have a receiver hitch, so instead I bought this and bolted it to my 2006 Chevrolet Colorado bumper by drilling a couple of holes, and I'm In general, it probably is designed to handle 5000 pounds, yet 75% of bumpers on trucks can't handle that kind of weight, so if you plan to haul much more than 2000 pounds, I recommend getting a receiver hitch that bolts to the It will not be carrying a lot of weight, however it will still be able to tow a smaller trailer if I need it In order to get my wife to allow me to purchase an inflatable pontoon boat, I have to put a frame mount hitch on the boat. Despite its price, I like this item since it gets the job done well and is inexpensive.

Our production is of the highest quality! It's now possible to use the bike rack on the I used another one to mount a vise receiver step on the huge bench I built

A 5" swivel vise like that can be mounted on the back of our trucks for heavier A grade 8 Allen head bolt, nuts, and 1" spacer for mounting the hitch to the vehicle cost a bit more than the hitch, but were about 1/3 of the price of There is nothing wrong with this Receiver! It is very well made!.

It's not bad, but it could have been better
3/5

The part is quite well built, and I am pleased with that. The downside is that the bolt holes should have been drilled to 3/4", so that they could So I could fit them properly, I had to file out the holes.
