Questions & Answers

Could you please tell me how long and how wide it is?

There are four people in it The wingtip to wingtip length is 1 1/2 inches the height is 1 inch. The width of the frame is 1/2 inch.

Would it be possible to weld it to my 2" receiver if I knew how long the flat part was?

There is just about an inch of flat part that would go against the flat side of the receiver. Due to the mounting on my trailer, it is difficult to measure it. I have a trailer part that measures about 3 inches across and a flat link link that is roughly 1/2 inch from each edge, so that leaves me with

As you can see in the pictures, it's much stronger than it appears
5/5

Connecting this to the tongue of my small utility trailer was easy using a grade 8 bolt, nut, and washer. To be able to fully rip off the tongue of a trailer before it fails, this safety chain link would have to be torn off. On the basis of its picture, I assumed it would be thinner and smaller. In the meantime, I believe it has a high rating now, and I am confident about its ability to complete.

It is useless as-is to have a zinc plated safety chain link
3/5

The center hole of the trailer hitch must at least be 3/4" out of diameter (maybe even 13/16") for this product to install properly. The zinc weight I now have was made because I did not have an electric drill press or a 3/4" drill bit. It appears that all trailer hitch balls have a minimum shaft diameter of 3/4" I have never seen or owned one with less.

Taking the time to do it yourself is simple and easy
5/5

The safety chains on trailers were a lot easier to set up with this product.
