I would rate it at least four stars. You can find your user manual there. Based on the configuration of your engine, you should be able to tow what it says.
There is no doubt that these parts are original Toyota OEM
installed it on a 2007 FJ and it works perfectly. Assuming the 2008 is the same, I believe the 2009 is as well. There is little ambiguity in the instructions for the wiring kit, but the kit works well.

I think every person should own an FJ Cruiser!.
It took me less than an hour to do it myself. The directions were less than stellar, so here is a YouTube video to help. The one advice I can give you is to try a different bolt pattern sequence as outlined in the directions as one bolt did strip a little Besides the fact that I did not have the proper torque setting in my torque wrench, the sequence of direction in my electric drill did not line up properly - partly my fault. The trailer is good and we've tow with it both ways. The panel may pop off and a small tack weld will be placed on the suspect bolt, but I am not particularly concerned. The process was as easy as I had hoped and the price was great for DIY.
Because one of the holes in the tow hitch assembly was not welded together correctly, it was not lined up correctly. As an owner of a machine shop, I was able to determine the issue was simply a drill out to the next (standard) size. It will be difficult for most people to solve the problem without a drill or drill bit of this size.

It is compatible with my 2013 Jeep I was able to install it easily. Parts for Toyota vehicles should be used.
There is a factory hitch on this vehicle. It took 2 hours from start to finish, including tapping the holes made by the factory. I completed and installed the electrical harness according to instructions. I really liked this as it was much cheaper than having the hitch installed by a dealer.
We liked the hitch and wiring, but I wish that the wiring instructions would have explained how to access the remote flasher relay more clearly. The installation of the top two bolts in the hitch was fairly straightforward, except for having to remove the bumper skin. It was nice that everything was original equipment manufacturer.
