There are many names under which different boxes can be bought, but the pictures all show the same basic design, leading me to believe that they are all made by the same company and sold as generics under the seller's I don't see anything wrong with that. Nevertheless, I was concerned about one thing about them all, the way the box lid screw ports were attached to the box itself, as if they were an afterthought and then spun welded to the box as a column. It seemed to me that manufacturing that product was poor. It is this particular box that has the ports molded in as part of the sidewalls, with standoffs supported within them that not only adds stability to the screw ports during torque loads when installing the lag bolts, but they also add stiffness to My opinion is that this is a win-win The winner wins. In this box, studs are attached to a removable base built for the connector attachments (bridges). It is hard to say whether this is an advantage. The removability of the component is meaningless if replacement parts cannot be obtained. No matter how you look at it, they were able to stand up to a few inch pounds of torque with no issues. In any case, I added star washers between each connector on a stud, as well as double nutted the tops just to be sure since there is no torque specification for these. It came with a cord of 8 feet - I purchased the box for that reason The error I made worked in the end. The amount of cable I needed was not necessary. Though I guess it's better to have it than not to have it. In terms of flexibility, the cable has a high degree of flexibility. As soon as the weather gets colder, we'll see how that holds up. Cables like this are RV style color coded and they were used on four wire horse trailers. However, I don't see any problem with that. You can use a test light and a helper to put the trailer connections in the right place after you leave the connections in place. This is simple. The one issue was that there was a misunderstanding. It has heads that pull right through the mounting holes, so the small bolts are included with the box. So some #10 washers can be used to keep that from happening. Apart from that, nothing to worry about. So far, so good with the trailer. A 300-mile round trip from my home to our friends' home. I will have to wait and see how watertight the box is going to be, as well as how fast the studs will The idea of slathering dielectric grease all over them crossed my mind, but I decided against it for the moment. Later this summer, when I replace the old wiring with new wiring and switch the clearance lights over to LED's, I will probably be back.
I really like this box because it's very sturdy and comes with everything you need to install it
Very versatile and I'm glad I received it
Negatives- Several wires can't be run at once without taking up much space. If the box were bigger or the studs set up better, that would be a plus however, the biggest flaw is the studs. They do not have a hole drilled in them so you can feed wires through, but you could However, I cannot wrap the wires around the stud for the nut to hold on because there is little space for my fat fingers. To top it all off they only use one nut per stud and a tiny You should use a large flat washer, or even better, put a double set of washers on each If you lock the first wire into the stud with a nut and washer, then the next wire can be wrapped around it, and finally it can be tightened down with a nut and washer. I just need a few very simple things, and I can't use the larger gauge wires from my trailer because the studs won't hold them. I wound up wrapping half of them with wire notes inside the box, so I just twisted them together. I find it to be a great tool for what I use it for, but it is set up in such a way as to be very "specific". These are merely important things to consider when you are.
Despite the fact that it shows the color wire and where it connects, the label inside the box is quite attractive. My problem with the label is that it appears to be coloured for RVs and I am wiring a utility trailer. It is not a huge deal but it would be nice if there were different labels that you could choose from depending on the trailer you are wiring. There isn't a rubber gasket around the lid of the box, so it's not waterproof. The lid of the box is warped. Though there is enough lip to prevent water from seeping in, if the lid was flat it would still do a good job.
There is a warping on the top, so it doesn't mate well with the bottom. The bottom of the bag is warped, making it difficult to put the top on without a lot of fussing. Since only two screws are used for the top, it is not possible to pull the warp out. The mating of the top and bottom does not have a rubber seal Below the fold. It is not sealed at the joints where the top is screwed on, so water sits on top can leak The strain relieving clamps for entry/exit cables are intended only for cables of very considerable size. Other than that, it could be beneficial, though it could not be useful for weather forecasts Objects that have been exposed.
This unit is standard. I purchased it to do a complete wiring overhaul on a car trailer I recently I really like the way the unit is put together with a completely sealed power cord and plug- The material is a rubbery type of material which I haven't You can usually take apart the plastic plug and replace it if necessary in the future. The one I'm talking about isn't it! My only reason for giving 3 stars was because the color codes for the wires are totally different from those that are used in standard US wiring. There were only two wires that matched You need a white ground and a blue brake for the trailer. There was something very odd about this. Make sure you read the fine print before buying! Colors cannot be matched up and expect them to work together. It seems that color codes in China differ from those in the West.
