Product Description

It is easy to install. There's no need to cut! The video must not be spliced! Plugging the trailer wiring harness kit into the existing factory wiring on your vehicle and equipping it with a rear 4-pin trailer connector allows you to hook up and tow
This is a standard connector. Wiring for trailer tail lights, brake signal lights, and turn signals can be connected with this four-flat plug-in trailer wiring. The 4way trailer light wiring is popular on a variety of trailers, and it offers a number of versatile towing options
A VEHICLE-SPECIFIC solution. For select Subaru Ascent, Forester, Outback, Crosstrek and XV Crosstrek models (factory tow package required), this aftermarket wiring harness provides a secure connection between the trailer and a vehicle.
We provide you with reliable power. Surface-mount technology is utilized in the creation of this four-way trailer wiring harness. With this type of circuitry, a lower amount of heat is generated, as is a higher light output and durability
COVER FOR DUST. This 4-pole trailer lighting wire harness is equipped with a rubber dust cover in order to promote durability and weather resistance. In addition to being protected from the elements when not in use, it also fits easily onto the four-way flat connector when not in use

Questions & Answers

What is the location of the connector in the 2015 Subaru Outback?

My 2009 Forester had it underneath the foam inserts on the drivers side of the trunk on the drivers side. I am not sure where it is located on the 2015 Outback.

What are the specs on your 2003 Toyota Tacoma?

That's all I can say it worked great on my 2013 Subaru Outback, I hope that's helpful

Can you tell me how old the plug is on a 2013 Outback?

There are no front lights left in a 2015 Trek Crosstrek. They're behind the trim panels on the back of the taillights. To begin, I had to remove the trim panel just inside the lower weather stripping for lift gate. I think the instructions indicated that it should be nearer the wheelwell, rather than farther forward, as on an outback.

What's the experience with a 2015 Subaru Impreza with this product?

I pulled out the trim panels from the back of my 2015 Impreza Sport Hatchback to find out if it was the same problem I encountered. From the video of the Crosstrek's installation of this part, it appears that there is a small white plug that plugs into the driver's side taillight in the Crosstrek. Unlike the plug, the cable is non-flammable My Impreza is equipped with it. In case anything was under the passenger side too, I looked under there as well.

The 2020 Subaru Outback will be available in the following colors I urge you to read this
5/5

You do not need to remove the side panels from a 2020 Outback all that's required is to remove the center section of the center console as if you are installing the spare tire. The connector itself is located inside the trunk on the passenger side up under the lip of the trunk. Other than the self tapping screw for the ground, everything is plug and play.

I've tested it on a 2019 Subaru Forester and it worked seamlessly
5/5

I had trouble following the instructions, but it turned out to be easier than I expected. There is a model of the 2019 Subaru Forester Touring in my possession. In order to remove the trim piece that runs along the rear hatch lock U connector, I simply removed it. There were four hidden plastic trim clips holding it in place. The box will pop out when you pull it up straight. Secondly, you should remove the two clips that hold the hard foam piece that is mounted on the left side next to the rear tire. Remove the clips, then work your way under the plastic trim panel towards the back of the panel closest to the hatch opening and rubber molding. This cable should have a connecter wrapped in pink tape and a cable running through it. Take off the tape, plug the two ends of the cable together, and ground the white wire. Attach the cable with a couple of tie wraps, and then reassemble the wires. Checked everything with a trailer light tester and everything appeared to be fine. I will have to look for a class III hitch that is 2" in diameter It appears the cart came before the horse for me.

With a few tips, you can install the plugin easily
5/5

There are a few tips that can make the installation on a 2015 Outback a breeze. Once you remove the bottom panels from your cargo compartment, you will also need to remove the tie down loop from the left front. You will find it right behind the left side of the rear seat. The plastic piece in the middle of the ring must be pulled to open, then a socket with a 10 mm drive must be used to remove the bolt. After you've done that, you should be able to see the white connector plug showing through the hole on the left. To plug in the connector, you need to pull down that tab. Since there are two loops of blue tape holding the connector wire up behind the trim, removing the tiedown allows it to be found and removed much more quickly. You should then attach the ground screw and place the adapter box wherever it will not interfere with the installation.

I only needed to plug it into my Subaru 2016 Crosstrek
5/5

There was no splicing required. The installation of this wiring harness on my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek was very straightforward, thanks to the Crosstrek's convenient plug (behind the rear left taillight) that simply connects to this Once the trailer had been pulled, I ran it as follows Wires were connected to the plug I sliced through at the end of the kit. Trailer Hitch Install on 2016 Subaru is a video with a complete description of what I did, and it was really easy to install. My Crosstrek received a perfect connection with the wiring harness. I was very impressed with the quality of the wiring harness. There is no need to splice.

This wiring harness is amazing
5/5

The installation process. The answer is not so good. I was able to fit the factory connector perfectly on my 2018 Subaru Outback with this harness. I like that the wiring is clearly marked and that an inline fuse is included. The connector plug is even protected with a dust cap. A small issue with this connection is that it is really difficult to reach the factory connector. You can find it tucked underneath the left rear trim panel and secured by a blue piece of can barely be felt while trying to maneuver your fingers from beneath the stiff panel because it is completely out of sight. Nothing in the supplied instructions addresses this problem, and neither the Subaru owner's manual nor the manufacturer's online manual mention anywhere that a factory connector exists. I was fortunate to discover you could gain easy access by removing the tie down ring in the lower left corner of the cargo area (photo). Pulling out the entire tie down assembly reveals a larger opening by prying the small cover back and removing a 10mm bolt. It is easy to see the blue connecting tape from there and grab it. You can then pull it toward the opening and cut it. Push the connector downward until you can reach it with your fingers from below, and then remove it. In the end, it's a simple matter of plugging the harness into the control box, secure the panel and tucking the wiring behind it. Furthermore, the instructions point out that you must disconnect the negative battery cable before you install As long as you wait until after the install is finished to install the inline fuse, you will not need to do this. It is also a good idea to get a 4 pin tester ($6 The connector should be tested before everything is plugged in or attached. If the lights on whatever you are towing are not functioning, you should also test the harness.

Other problems with the electrical system
3/5

I was very satisfied with the results. Video instructions are simple to follow, and you can install it without any problems. I used it on a couple of trips with my boat trailer and it was very useful. It was then that the poltergeist appeared. In my case, my turn signal lights (orange) were just flickering. Keep on staying. Embrace this moment. You can still drive the car while it is wasn't able to connect it to this wiring harness for several hours, as I was checking fuses and pulling codes. A whim later, I unplugged the white wiring coupling, and I was no longer having issues. Not sure what to make of this. Perhaps there is something wrong with the Despite the fact that I installed the white ground screw and wire exactly as directed, maybe I should sand down the paint at the base of the screw to expose the bare metal? That sounds interesting. I have updated It was a strange electrical problem on my car so I took it to a mechanic to find out what was wrong. In his search of the car, he went through everything I'm fine, everything's fine. I tested this CURT wiring harness and it failed. However, it should not be used. You should NOT buy this! Do not waste your money on this! CURT as well as the seller were on the phone with me, but both did not respond. This is awesome.
