While this hitch pin works perfectly with WeatherTech bump steps, I also needed it to secure a trailer at times. After I received this, I noticed a warning that it should not be used for towing. contacted the store and was told that this was correct, so I am returning it. In general, the Bumpstep pin will work fine if all you need is a pin to secure your Bumpstep.

It is a very strong pin, so I gave it 4 stars. My 4-inch boot did not fit but it did fit my 1-inch boot This is due to the placement of the pin once it is inserted through the hitch hole, which causes problems with the body and frame. Invocation of any angle did not get it to lock correctly and spinning it in any direction did not get it at the correct angle to lock it. The straight pin that I ordered would lock, so I ordered it.

Purchased this for a 5th gen 4runner, and the installation was straightforward. As you would expect from Weather Tech, the quality is good. Aside from not getting the XL version, I only regret not getting the product.
