This is the first one I'm using and I'm very happy with it. This and the cheaper competitor brand were the two I kept coming back to. From what I could tell, AMP Research was a supplier to the OEMs. This quality gives me a lot of confidence. The fact that it is made in the USA and is aluminum makes me happy. In reality, I only had to wait about 10 minutes for it to be installed. It was no problem for me to remove the two bolts from my truck. With the 1/2 set and breaker bar, I was able to get the job done. As you can see, I used a regular socket, a deep socket, and an extension when I installed it. My truck was rusted to the point that it cracked when I was installing it. The truck is a 2009 Silverado, so it is 6 years old with 60k miles. My dad, who is over 65, was really happy to receive this. This is the type of guy I worried would say it's for "old people" but it's actually for young people. Everyone should be able to benefit from it. The truck is a whole lot easier to get into and out of with this feature. Anyone can love it if he loved it, so I'm sure any of us will as well. I believe it sits in the middle between the ground and the tailgate of a 1500. In the future, I will likely order 2 steps for the side of each bed. It adds up in terms of costs, but it's worth it in the long run.
