I first want to say that the lock works perfectly. It fits me perfectly, but I have a flared tongue that makes it hard to fit a little cocky Keeping an eye on everything, yet remaining secure. I think this is an excellent product. Is there a reason for the 3 stars? There is one key for this lock and for the Connor Trailer Hitch Lock - see the table below. There are, of course, many other items you can use with the 5/8" Receiver Lock. There is no common brand name at all, and I'm sure it's much cheaper to produce that way. If someone loses his key and requests a replacement, the company can be very helpful. Similarly to the CH751 keys found on 60% of RVs, this feature also allows for tamper-proofing of the cargo door locks. As someone who does not transport gold, or other valuable things, when I'm on vacation I like to be reasonably sure that when I get my hatchet, chair, lantern, fishing pole, shovel, wheel chalks, etc out to use them they will I find it disappointing that these security devices don't provide much security.

When I parked my boat in my driveway, I had this locked up to the boat trailer. In addition to the bright yellow paint making it obvious that there was a lock on the boat trailer deterring orphans from stealing it, it clicked right on with no problems. Despite this, the lock would not budge when it was time to unlock it. Although it would turn about 1/4 turn, I am certain it was the correct key for the lock, but nothing would open it for me. The WD-40 spray and several sprays of soap and water failed to loosen it up The thing is stuck, and I tried using a dead blow mallet for 40 times without success. Eventually, the key snapped off in the lock after I had twisted it so many times. There's nothing else for me to do but reach for my trusty hacksaw. With in 20 seconds tops, the lock was a heap of pieces (and have gone straight into the trash can).

There's nothing to worry about. Rather than actually regaining control of the site from someone determined to obtain it. Using it to secure a trailer in a remote area would prove difficult, but would not make it easy for someone to steal a trailer from my yard.

I just bought one for myself and one for my sister since it's just not that robust. In addition to sending a message to her neighbor, it should also discourage her from using her trailer for personal use. For the win, passive aggression is key. Unless I come across a better deal, I won't be shopping here again. If I can find a better one, I will.

This product would have been better reviewed before purchase, but I neglected to do so. A few times, the ball appeared to have been whacked, and the lock provided little to no resistance to the thieves. These experienced low-level workers were likely to have taken 30 seconds to 1 minute to complete People who have lived their entire lives.

As a replacement unit for an older electronics unit that I have forgotten the key to, I had to order this. With the older one, the tolerances were tighter, it was heavy, cast metal, and more robust in its feel. Probably the best way to describe the new one is that it feels like a cheap kind of lightweight material that can be popped off with a hammer. Otherwise, the product appears to be as advertised, and AMaxon was fast as usual when it came to processing the order. A modern "revision" of an old tool from a well-known manufacturer can be disappointing if it appears to be cheaply manufactured. I hope I am wrong and potential thieves will be deterred simply by the bright yellow hi-vis vests A housing option that promotes visibility.

I like the fact that it keeps the trailer in place, but if I'm trying to use it, it's a pain in the rear. To unlock this thing, you have to move in the right direction for a very long time. Due to the ugly design, I had to spend up to 10 minutes just trying to open it. I will never purchase this brand of lock again and will wait to test another lock that is easier to open. The experience of watching a trailer is awful due to this.
