Questions & Answers

Is it possible to open both locks with a single key?

Each lock in my house has its own key. I used one key to open the other lock, but it did not work.

For security reasons, why is there no physical manual hitch pin?

Ours cost about $12 and came with a locking pin.

Is it possible to get more keys that are all the same, like eight in total? totl?

I'm guessing the only person who knows the answer is the manufacturer, so I'd ask them.

This has been on my truck for eight months. I'm unable to remove it at this time. Beware?

If you leave a hitch pin on indefinitely, it will freeze up, so I use spray lithium grease on all contact points and in the key way. Remove the hitch and pin when you're done hauling. To keep sand and salt out of your receiver, use a receiver cover. I hope this has been of assistance.

Don't forget to put LUBE in the mix! Listen to me out before you lock your hitch with this
4/5

br>br>It's critical to squirt a glob of thick lubricant into the hole where the pin goes in and locks. br>I had high hopes for this product and applied it dry, but when I went to remove it a little over two months later, the locking head had seized on the pin. The key would rotate 45 degrees before coming to a halt, preventing the pin from being released. To fully unlock the door, the key must be turned 90 degrees, but mine was completely stuck. br>br>I was able to unlock it after some frantic jiggling and eventually force, but all of this could have been avoided if the mechanism had been lubed. I smeared a dollop of silicone anti-bacterial cream on the affected area. corrosive grease where the pin locks in, and now it unlocks so smoothly once more. br>br>Overall, I'd recommend this pin because it's heavy and has a good feel to it, and I think it'll last a long time.

What did they have in their heads? Except for one major flaw: The fit between the pin and the lock head is sloppy and loose, to the point where I'm concerned the head will fall off
3/5

The two pieces are in sync and have a strong connection. But the wobble is so bad that I'm not sure it's safe to tow with, and that's something no one should have to worry about with any towing product. I'd like to hear from the vendor about this issue, as I'm not the first reviewer to bring it up.

Everything was in the same key, which was exactly what I was looking for! I bought a set of four trailer locks, all keyed the same, that are simple to open and close without the use of a key
5/5

They appear to be of substantial construction. Purchase as many keyed alike as you may require; this way, a single key will fit a variety of trailers, cars, and trucks. In your fleet, there are hitches.

Rusted Junk with sloppy fitment
3/5

We don't think about rust on our vehicles because we live in south Florida, where it rains a lot but there is no snow or salt, and we don't even think about it. These hitch locks, on the other hand, rusted in less than three months. I wouldn't mind a little cosmetic rust, but I couldn't even get the locking mechanism to work, so I had to hammer it off my hitch. br>br>At this point, I'm stuck with two hitch locks that I can't operate. br>br>Even before it rusted, there was a flaw in the design in that the locking end spins freely while the key must be locked in one spot to lock or unlock it. Overall, these locks are not something I would recommend.

Great hitch lock made of stainless steel
5/5

I bought this as a hitch lock for the ball that holds my boat trailer. br>The previous hitch lock I had had to be cut off with a sawzall because the key would no longer work inside of it. br>This one is supposedly stainless steel and has a waterproof cap over the locking mechanism. br>In addition, the key is designed to look like a vending machine key, so the teeth are hidden. br>It was a very simple installation. It appears to be a lot heavier than my old one, and I don't think I'll have the same problems with it as I did with my old one. I would definitely recommend this one, even though it is a little more expensive than non-stainless steel models.

For applications other than towing, it's fine
4/5

It appears to be of good quality, and I particularly enjoy the o- adjusting the fit with rings The plastic parts, particularly the keyhole cover, will have to be tested to see how long they last. The words "pro" and "con" are the most important ones to remember. Although the circular key is more durable, it also takes up more space in your pocket. As received, everything appears to be in good working order. br>br>On the downside, there is no cotter pin included. In my opinion, towing a lock alone is not safe. However, rather than towing, I'm using these to attach other hitch-mounted items, such as a step up.

Great lock all the way around
5/5

I've owned a few hitch licks, and this is one of the best. On a dually with an oversized receiver, it's used. The rubber o rings are a brilliant idea.

Wow, these are really nice
5/5

These can be locked without the use of a key (push to lock). When using tandem or multiple hitch applications, this is a fantastic feature. Without having to dig through your pockets for the key each time, you can unlock all units and then push to lock as hook up. The addition of rings is a nice finishing touch. Keeps everything tidy and in place. I'd never thought of using o- before. That kind of ring Smart!.
