How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

A universal coupler lock is compatible with virtually all 1-inch tubes There are three sizes 77/8"", 2" and 2" Couplers for trailers that are 5/16".
The lock lets you lock up trailers unattended, and it prevents towed vehicles from being hit Theft at away. You can deter thiefs from damaging your trailer with a bright red finish.
The material is resistant to corrosion and rust. The installation and removal of the software is straightforward.
An advanced locking mechanism keeps the material from being picked or pried.
There is no way we can key two (2) of these locks at the same time. This coupler lock (389DAT) looks the same as the 379KA but is colored differently. The only difference between them is in the keyed alike option.

Questions & Answers

This would be more useful than a boot to go with a trailer, wouldn't it?

I think this is an okay product, it fits any receiver and is solid. As well as the Denver Boot, I also have a boot that clamps to both sides of the wheel, which has so much more ease of use. When it comes to trailers, locks and boots are useless if someone wants them badly enough, but will sure slow them down if they make the effort.

Can all locks be opened with the same key or do they all require a different key?

Every lock that I have has its own set of keys. I imagine Master Lock has a large number of different cylinders that they use. There's a possibility that the 2 locks use the same key, but my units each use a different key.

What is the number of keys included with this?

There are two of them

A star is awarded It was purchased in October of 2017 and I have used it twice this year

This season with the lock "tumbler" having frozen, a key could not be used to open it. In order to find out if the "key antifreeze/lube" could free the lock and enable me to turn the key, I used it. We tried letting the lock set up with antifreeze and lube injected into it, but it did not work. After trying all the keys I had for the lock, I gave up trying to get the lock off. looks like a very solid item, and I expected it would be a real challenge to get it off either by cutting it off or prying After I inserted the crowbar between the inside of the lock and the coupler on the trailer with the lock in the position "shown in the coupler" photo, I was able to remove the lock. Simply applying a little pressure on the bar allowed me to remove the lock in a matter of seconds. A lot of pressure is needed to pull a nail. There is no point in purchasing this junk! A "would be thief" might consider this lock to be a "screaming invitation" to steal the trailer because of its bright red appearance. An Airstream that costs a lot of money.

Locks on trailer couplers that are decent There is, however, no real guarantee that any of these will remain It has the following "Master Lock" features This is a universal size

There are two types of couples The trailer lock #389DAT from Trailer Locks is a good coupler lock for the money, likely to deter 90% of would-be thieves The thieves will win. hooks onto your trailer easily, locks securely, and plugs into the coupler area, so no one can back up to your trailer, hook it up, and take it. As a result, the more research that you do on these coupler locks, the less optimistic you become about their ability to deter the other 10% of highly determined burglars. It turns out that even seemingly robust locks can be easily broken if a pry bar and leverage are used. In other words, if someone has their sights set on taking your trailer, you're probably out of luck. I therefore recommend using this lock on one hand and storing your trailer in a highly visible, highly secure location on the other There should be enough light. The thieves will be less inclined to use pry bars if they are seen working on it that way. If you want something more secure, you are going to have to invest in a highly specialized coupler lock that weighs a lot and costs more than $250. Some of those designs are designed in a way that makes prying them apart much more difficult than the others, since they look stronger and are designed to make it I've found others at this price point to be better, but this is one of the better affordable options I've found. For those looking for a simple and effective way to deter casual thieves, this is probably the best choice. Again, I would use this method in conjunction with storing your trailer in a highly visible location.

What makes you think you can trust your $29,000 travel trailer to a cheap master lock, just like I did? trailer that costs $2,000, $5,000, etc. ? 1) DO NOT In a nutshell, this ball hitch lock is a perfect example of false security. Here is what I want to say. The movie I watched was ten minutes long You can find a video on YouTube explaining how to pick locks. It is currently midnight). The lock picks arrived today, and I decided to test whether a totally inexperienced "thief" could remove this lock from the When I arrived at work, I proceeded as follows After ten times, it took me about five seconds to open the lock. Initially, it took me 60 seconds to open the lock, but slowly I got better at it. It's just me, with nothing to show for it. Someone who really put the time and effort into opening locks once spent an hour or two at home practicing It would be almost faster to pick the key than to use it. A joke, I tell you. The brittle, potent nature of its flesh isn't even worth discussing. The metal's construction and ease with which it can be broken off with a.

It is a waste of money to purchase this lock. My door can be opened with two different MasterLock keys from an older lock.

Fits easily and can be taken off and on
5/5

The hitch cover is made of steel, fits well, and is well constructed. Fits easily and can be taken off and on. It is possible to break or take anything off if it is worth it to someone. In my exploration of a number of options, this one struck me as the most secure and difficult to remove without a.

You can lock and unlock it easily! There is more to a sentence than just a single word The lock for the trailer is very simple, but it is very effective
5/5

Just recently, I bought an 8'x5' trailer and wanted to at least have a lock on it to deter (hopefully) those who would try to take off with it. In spite of the security cameras we have, there can never be too much redundancy and layers. do not live in a high-crime neighborhood but it only takes one thief to make your day miserable. The price of the security is too good to ignore. The contrast between the red and black in the trailer is nice. works perfectly and I've never had a difficulty locking or unlocking it. I also like the sliding ball area because it makes it extremely.

Trying to remove it, but I can't! My trailers need at least two of these, so I bought two of them
5/5

Since I put them on a few weeks ago, they have never come off. It was impossible for me to remove my trailer yesterday, even though I needed it. Putting the lock in the freezer after a night of 32 degrees led to it becoming FROSTBITE. I have Uggs. Drag out the heat gun, an electrical cord and the trailers to get the heat gun. After I was unable to turn the lock because of the frozen lock, I could not get the key into the lock. As a result, if you know you're gonna need your trailer, you'd best thaw it out ahead of time. As for the lock itself, it is a strong one to keep out bad guys. They will find a way to do what they want.
