The u bolt should be brought up to the hardware and a matching nut should be provided
As far as my experience goes, it is very good working with it
There may be others here who have received it. But, instead of the SAE u bolt, I received 1/2" coarse (aka 1/2" coarse as someone else said). The packaging was neat and tidy. This is an excellent product. Check my review for how I used it on a 2-inch LCD My preferred method has a 1/2" receiver with a 2' reducing collar (it's working
There is no option but to remove, unless you plan to leave the receiver mounted at all times.

This was a great buy for us. A Curt cargo carrier 18153 was assembled and installed just now. There was some play where the carrier mates up with the receiver, according to what I read. There is no looseness with the hitch tightener so it is going to be quieter and less vibrations I'll have to find something else to complain about now.
The one side of the pipe is.
I used it for a 1,600-mile trip from New England to the Carolinas and back and it held my camper snugly while I drove!.
I used this on my 2 week long, 2500 mi roadtrip and was amazed at how stable and secure it My next trip I replaced the tray with my bicycle rack and was again impressed with how well the stabilizer performed It fits loosely and floppy without it on my bicycle rack that's fairly cheap. Toward the end of yesterday after I separated the rack and this nut, I noticed that one nut was being very difficult to turn after about five or six turns. Due to my overworked schedule, I've made a lot of mistakes Having never unseated seated threads before, I decided to reverse the direction several times to be sure the threads were tracking correctly and then tried loosening the nut once more. I took a break as it kept getting harder and harder. As soon as I tried again, it had completely ceased and would not move. From my research, all indications are that it probably galled, or was cold welded. times I installed and uninstalled it, both went so smoothly, that I honestly doubt that anything went wrong There are multiple threads In the evening, I performed three of the install/uninstall activities, whereas yesterday's removal occurred in the middle of the afternoon as it was 98 degrees outside and the hitch had been exposed to the sun most of the day. The nut probably welded because when I was turning the first side full clockwise, the bolt temperature probably went up to the point that the next nut welded after I loosened it. I believe this happened because I was using a socket wrench, not because of tool speed. Despite my experience, I still highly recommend using this stabilizer, but I wanted to share it with others so they don't have to go through what I.
A 3/8" U-shaped tube would have been sufficient for me There is 5/8" hardware included in this bolt! The powder coated plate is 1/4" thick as well.
It is easy to tighten up the entire arrangement with these units It takes 2 minutes for each bracket to be installed The bike racks can easily be loaded for trips with the bike racks installed This gives you the confidence you need.
I bought the nuts and flat washers and lock washers it should have come with at a hardware store. This bracket works as designed after you get the hardware store to supply them. This must be a part of that fancy trade deal, dot dot dot UPDATE. In two weeks after the original purchase, Wing from CZCAuto sent us a complete hitch tightener (free of charge) and was very kind and understanding. For this reason, I am bumping up the stars. Wing, thanks very much!.
Therefore, the bolt broke. Product arrived quickly & was in good condition. I didn't have any trouble installing it. However, it did not include torque values (range of pressures to be used for tightening attachment nuts). It does not matter how many inches/foot pounds it is. As a result of one of the nuts shearing, the U-nut became damaged Four bolts remain after the bolt broke Into the nut is enough threads to use the bolt for 5 turns. The nuts appear to have been overtightened. It would be logical to assume that this is a removable system since trailers and hitches are removable An item attached to a tow vehicle should never be permanently fixed. The hitch assembly would have been subjected to excessive movement if I did not reinstall it (test-fit) before a trip, as I would not have allowed it to be installed and removed prior to a trip. In addition to providing a range of torque values that are ideal for this type of hardware, it would be useful to the manufacturer.
