One of the worst locks I've ever seen simply pops off the end with little effort. I have no idea how this got such a high rating. I messed around with the key position and tried both shanks. It doesn't matter what you do. This isn't something I'd trust to keep my hitch in place. Stupidity at its finest.
It's a decent pin lock for the money. It's particularly useful for receivers that are difficult to access from the sides, such as those found in RVs. It was purchased for my bike rack, which attaches to my motorhome's 2" receiver. I didn't use it in the end. Because the rack has a 1/2 " hole and the receiver has a 5/8", there was too much room in the hitch system for the bike rack to sway, so I used a 3" half inch hex bolt tightened hard to keep it from swaying. That was not the fault of the pin locks, and I couldn't do it while towing. So, all in all, it's a good lock. It now serves as a backup.
To transport home improvement items from my local DIY store, I bought a new trailer. It was always a question in the back of my mind whether or not my trailer would be waiting for me when I returned. This lock performs admirably and eliminates the element of surprise when it comes to trailer theft.
It appeared to be the right size for what I needed, but it won't fit in my hitch because it's too thick, so it's not a'standard' size.
I needed to secure my hitch to my receiver, and this kit had the right sizes for my 1. With a 1/2-inch hole, there are 25 set ups. I'm pulling a pop-up trailer. I don't think it'll be submerged, but if it holds up without issue, I'll be happy; if anything changes, I'll let you know.
There are two issues with this product: first, the pin's diameter is just large enough to prevent it from fitting into the bike rack I own. Second, when I attempted to insert the key into the lock mechanism on the pen's end, it broke and disintegrated. Save your cash and go shopping for something else. It's not even worth returning because it's in pieces.
Only just fits the Tesla Model Y. Don't get a Tesla Model Y if you don't need it. Take a look somewhere else.
The key is a disappointment because it meets all of the criteria. I have locks with round keys or distinct top and bottom that you can use in low-light situations. When removing and installing this lock in low light, bring a flashlight with you.
