Does the locker cylinder only have an allen screw to hold it in place?

Amplock U-bolts are what you may mean by an allen screw but I'm unsure of what you mean by there A keyed lock cylinder on the bottom of the ball pin pushes out a very robust lock pin into a recessed area on the coupler when used with BRP2516 couplers. You can find several videos on YouTube that explain how the lock works.

A TRAILER LOCK is the one you buy after your first trailer has been stolen
5/5

Surveillance footage showed the theft of my trailer took place in under 4 minutes A minute. All four locks on the trailer were compromised, including the master lock padlock, the coupler lock, and the CLUB 491 tire lock on the trailer. After the trailer cost $9K as well as $16K cargo, they drove off with $16K in cargo. You must have home/renter insurance to cover the contents (Trailer insurance covered the trailer, but not the contents of the home/rental I slipped up. remnants of a trailer were found, and the vehicle was There are GPS Trackers for trailers available that are battery operated for 5 years and send alerts to your phone so you can track them down, but if they get totaled it's a huge hassle to track them down. It would have been better if I had bought this product to prevent theft. Comparing a scrawny masterlock (left) to this mamoth AMPLOCK (right) and an Abloy padlock, the AMPLOCK is more likely to deter thefts. The Master Lock looks like a toy, as demonstrated by the photo in which they just cut with an angle grinder just 1/4" to create a knotch (the red paint from the pry bar) and pried it apart in less than 20 seconds. It will not crack or break under the effects of acid, heat, drills, angle grinders, or pry bars. My only regret is not knowing about this lock earlier. It may be a bit expensive, but that's less than an insurance deductible and getting your insurance dropped, not to mention all the time needed to buy a new trailer, insurance, customizing it again, and all that stuff. It was a shame that the thief stole so much of my time as well. Abloy is the second best lock manufacturer in the world behind Serco and Greenleaf (951C Heavy Duty Grade-AMPLOCK is quite similar to it, as it comes with a very similar and quite impressive locking mechanism. This padlock is the best of the best at 2,500 dollars). As we can see from the design, the lock in the AMPLOCK is about a Grade 3- It has been secured to a level 6 in the security world). For a thief in the night to succeed, he or she has little time. The thief should be in and out within four This lock cannot be opened by hand tools used to drive it up. This is the end of the game. Besides the AMPLock for the coupler, I also bought an Abloy Protect 2 PL 362 padlock ($295) with an ABUS Heavy-Duty 10' Chain ($110) with a sock cover ($110) for the hitch lock. To be sure the tandem wheels and axle are secure when I am away for a long time, I will put the chain over the wheels and around the axle By wearing a sock, the rims are protected from scratches. I'd also recommend that you install a set of McGard Wheel Lug Nut Locks. I heard that my neighbor's boat was stolen recently, and he had a tire claw on his tandem axle trailer, and the thieves just pulled that wheel off, and took That is why the lug nut lock is so important. can be found on youtube, but it's only a silhouette, it doesn't show you the differences side by side between I am glad I spent the money on this lock! AMPLOCK is the only product like it on the market, and I have searched everywhere. There is an average theft of over 20 trailers a month in my area. Several neighboring houses even I did not know went up to me after theirs were stolen and told me stories of being robbed. Although I live in an upscale neighborhood, I did not know trailer theft was on the rise This gated area was just what I was looking for.

When it comes to trailer locks, this is the best
5/5

It's really worth it if you don't want your trailer stolen. I managed to prevent the theft of my custom trailer and off-road vehicle that is inside of it. I don't think there is anything better for securing your home than this lock. A cheap lock is easy to break, so it is not expensive when considering how easy it is to break it. In the past, thieves have tried to steal my trailer but have been unsuccessful, leaving their tools around my trailer after being defeated by my AMPLOCK lock. It is strongly recommended that you invest in a lock like this.

It is a large and formidable lock
5/5

I installed a yellow hitch lock on our trailer when we bought it a year ago. A gated facility stores the trailer, so I felt secure about its safety. I started questioning our facility's lock after I heard about trailer thefts recently. Though no one seems to have stolen anything from our site, I was concerned. I quickly discovered that the lock we used was little more than a yellow ornament based on a brief google search. The AmpLock lock or the coupler lock from Proven Industries were my two choices. While both are impenetrable, heavy metals, I have a gut feeling that the puck lock mechanism is the weakest link in Proven Industries' Because we could find no evidence to refute that concern, we reached out to Amplock for pictures and measurements to prove the model. provided us with information regarding our trailer in a very timely and courteous manner. It was yesterday that we installed the Amplock. Despite its strength, bulk, and size, this contraption is heavy, massive, and cumbersome A formidable force. Each heavy piece is made up of two parts. You can attach the lock portion of the coupler over the lip of the hitch latch to free up your hands for placing the ball insert into place. Ft Knox has little control over this baby! Once you insert the lock pin, it's locked! It is true that there is a bit of wobbling It may be a lot of fun, but at least I'm sure the lock itself won't be damaged. I am aware that a determined thief might manage to get away with it, but with AmpLock, at the very least, I believe the opportunistic thug of a thief is My best hope is for that to happen.

No fault of Amplock on this low review
3/5

The one star was earned by Amazon for this Please be aware. Talk with the manufacturers to find out the lock you require for your trailer before you buy. In my ignorance, I thought I had researched and ordered the correct lock, but I was wrong. I tried to fit the lock on my 2 5/16th ball hitch for my travel trailer, but it would not fit. It didn't fit properly so I contacted the manufacturer. I read that adjustments could be made if it wasn't the right fit. She informed me that I had bought the wrong hitch and gave me precisely what I needed after I talked to her and sent her a picture of my trailer's hitch hook up. Had I done that before purchasing this, I would have saved money. The Amazon return policy stipulates that you have to send the item back to the manufacturer on your own dime before you can receive a refund. To ship it from the states to Quebec, Canada, I had to pay $90 dollars. You should use the United States Postal Service. They wanted $180 for it to be sent back by UPS! If you get it wrong, you will be out almost $100! So you should talk to the manufacturer before you buy!.

Trailer locks are the Fort Knox of Besides owning two enclosed trailers which contain many valuable tools, I am also a contractor and own two enclosed trailers
5/5

In addition, I have purchased many different kinds of hitch locks, all of which have proven to be junk. There is no question that this lock is worth the price We built a security system that ensures trailer safety, gives you peace of mind, and we rigged it with a beastly tank-like lock that will scoff at thieves who attempt to defeat or beat it with their little grinding tools. My mistake would have been to buy this years ago. Anything else you find that costs much less than this could be regarded as a mere Take the time to stop messing around with those trailer ornaments they call "hitch locks" if you really want to keep that trailer you worked so hard for and whatever precious cargo may be in it.

It made me laugh when I saw how much this piece cost
5/5

After seeing the price of this art piece, I laughed out loud. After that, I read the review stating that this is the lock you buy after your first trailer is I just spent a lot of money on a new trailer and now I'm going to lock it up for $20. According to what people I've spoken to about trailer theft where I live, it's a huge problem. It is impossible to defeat this beast of a lock my trailer and use it at the same time. In the case that it absolutely cannot be stolen You don't want to get your hopes up by buying There's no substitute for the real thing.
