It is possible to buy a version of this base plate that is designed for trucks Are the attachments interchangeable with that part number or are they a different part number?

Bx 1989-the picture on this page is not the real deal I just installed the BX1989 in my driveway in about three hours, and it went behind the tow hooks on my 2500/3500 truck. As a result, I do not work as quickly. To get a better idea of the size of the base plate, you can visit the Blue Ox website and download a photo and installation guide. I towed my Ram 3500 behind my motorhome for a year before selling it and switching to My blue ox product worked flawlessly and I've also installed it on 2 chevy 1500's and on a ram 1500, the one on the Ram 3500 was the easiest. We removed the tow hooks and replaced them with longer bolts. Tow hooks are still there, so you're not left out.

This base plate is intended to fit a 2017 2500 slt. Does it fit?

How about the empty weight of the Ram 2500, that weighs 5900? Does the Blue Ox BX1989 towing capacity match up with that?

won't have any problems towing, I tow a Ram 3500 8-foot trailer with totes in the bed behind my motor home for over a year with no problems, although I used a blue ox tow bar that weighed 10,000 pounds.

I know you have to remove the front bumper, I don't know if it's an option. Attached to the truck's frame, it bolts on. I found it easy to install and works well. It's strange that they give you 7/16 bolts instead of 1/2" like the ones you take out of the installation.
