A 2012 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 was able to fit it
My 2013 might have fit, but I am not sure
A Ram 1500 4x4 with tow hooks is on my property. After removing Hooks, the Base Plates will need to be adjusted. The drilling will take a little time, but it won't be very difficult. For those who will be doing the installation themselves, it might be a good idea to completely remove the front bumper from the The Ram is now completely accessible at its front, and installation is made so much easier. You will not have much difficulty removing the rust. Good luck!

We had to contact Blue Ox because the tow bar adapters stuck out past our bumpers only by about 1/2 inch, making them tricky to hook up. In addition, it caused paint damage to my bumper because the pins and safety hooks rubbed against it. The BX2412 has been reviewed by Blue Ox as the best tow base and its installation was as easy as removing your two hooks and installing the new bases (left and right sides), which only required drilling one hole. It is compared with six holes that had to be drilled for the BX1986, which requires 2 holes. In the end, I've put on a corrosion protection paint to hopefully prevent any rust from developing in my frame from removing the BX1986, but I'm a little upset that there are all these holes now. With the replacement of BX2412 by Blue Ox, I'd like to give that product 5 stars. The installation was easy, and the longer tow adapters make hooking up a breeze.
Thanks to the fast delivery and great price, I received the plates on time. Yesterday afternoon, I installed the two sets, which took about two hours. After lying on the ground for five to three hours, I got up and went into the house. As I drove the truck up onto the forest planks, I raised up the front of the truck about 4" high. Starting the project was pretty straightforward. I removed the air dam first to begin. Next, I installed the drivers side, then the passenger side which required (very) little grinding where it meets the bumper support to fit. As in the above example, reaming the existing holes (17/32") when they are present on the chassis can be a little tricky. You can do it if you go slow and easy, If you want to properly hold the plates against the chassis, you will need a set of clamps or vice-grips with a long reach. I did not have any problems drilling the remaining holes since my drill was sharp and a 17/32" bit. Nothing larger or smaller should be used. You must drill a 1 1/4" hole in two places to get the nuts into four bolts according to the directions. In general, bending the wire supporting the 4 nuts and still pulling them through the hole won't cause too many problems with them getting caught on the bolt. Make sure to use the Lock-Tite to keep them from falling out. Ensure that the tie is as necessary. In addition to drilling and bolting, I painted the 1 1/4" plugs with Rustoleum Rust Resolver primer once I had completed the drilling and bolting, and after that had dried I applied Rustoleum bed liner to protect the holes. It is suggested that you do not drill the 17/32" holes directly in the chassis with this Simply put your tool in the hole of the plate, drill a tiny hole through it, and you'll have your center point. Drill that center point all the way out with a 1/4" or 5/16" After you have finished drilling the holes, install the 17/32" bit in your drill again. If you don't pay attention when drilling with a drill this large, the bit can grab and give your wrist a little twist. It came with factory tow hooks that had to be removed and there was no trimming to be done to There is only one comment I would have negative on these plates, and that would be that some of the plates could be better painted, but I took care of those concerns with rustoleum.
It is not recommended if you are incapable of using tools or do not have the right tools. Thanks to the availability of a lift, my trip was made easier. If the lift hadn't been there, the journey would have been extremely difficult. The video can be found on Etrailer's YouTube channel. I am pleased with the installation.
Instructions are terrible. Do not proceed removing the front end if you are unfamiliar with how to do it. It's good because I worked at my Uncle's body shop as a teenager. In the end, I spent one full day to get everything together and put him back together with some pretty good understanding of how to remove body parts. If you're not very comfortable removing body parts, particularly pumpers and grills, you might want to think twice about this project. It was an awful set of instructions, and common sense and a basic understanding of structural and mechanical engineering were essential.
Your frame will need a hole drilled in it so you can fish your nuts through it using the bolting rod they give you. It didn't work well so we took the bumper off. The frame now has a hole on the end so you can easily access every bolt.
The biggest problem with the frame is uneven inside so the nuts won't grip.
The baseplate is great, and the instructions are simple and easy to follow. Whenever you install the mounting nuts that have the guide wire attached, make sure you grasp them firmly since they will twist inside the frame and you won't be able to secure them There are two pieces (2 pcs, not as in the picture) and the two-piece system is easy to operate.
I am pleased with how quickly and accurately the base plate arrived. There was a lot of work involved in installing this, however, all the parts fit well and the instructions were very clear.
Install was very easy. I recommend it to anyone who is mechanically inclined to install.
