The chassis and baseplate were totally different from each other. Below is a list of different parts #s for the Jeep Cherokee (No Trailhawk) From 2014 to The following model years are fitted to the BX1136 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk From 2014 to "ACC) 2011-2012"
There is a neutral position in my transfer case, so my Grand Cherokee is bound to 4 wheel drive. The wheels will now be free to roll since the drive line has been disconnected. It is unlikely that a 2WD Jeep can be towed 4WD when it has an automatic transmission especially if it is 2-wheel drive.
The Jeep I have is a 2017 model. There's a good chance it fits, but I can't guarantee it.
My understanding is that you need to order the baseplate made specifically for your model Jeep.

You receive the following items in the kit The mounting hardware and two base plates are included. The following information has been updated This is the date for the 12th of January in 2018 Please keep this in mind! There is no fit for the base plates! Since I have installed about 40 base plate kits in the past, I knew something was wrong. Then I called Blue Ox to ask about the issue, and they couldn't believe me, and basically called me an idiot! The next thing I did was to take some pictures and send them to the production manager, after spending about 30 minutes talking with a first representative and 20 minutes talking with another representative. The pictures were looked at by her, and she said yes, they are not right and they are There will be two new base plates sent to her. As a result, I called Amazon and informed them that the unit being shipped was mismade. Do you know how many base plates are shipped with holes that have not been welded? The following information was updated on 1/16/18 The replacement base plates have been received. As I was installing the base plates, I noticed that four of the bolts had damaged threads. A total of four other bolts in the kit had metric threads, and the kit did not contain metric lock nuts, this kit was messed up badly. There's nothing I can say but Blue Ox's Quality Control sucked this time, since this is not the first time I received a kit that was not up to par.
Although the product is great, it can be a real challenge to install it on a Grand Cherokee SUMMIT due to the hoses, wiring harnesses, and so on Depending on the number of accessories you remove, you may want to remove the batteries, etc. It's no secret that I am mechanically Hot rods are what I build and I do most basic repairs & maintenance Although I was able to do the work myself, it was necessary to watch a video for intelligible instructions since the written instructions that came with the base plate were unintelligible.
The product is exactly as expected to fit our 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Rather than one plate that attaches to the frame on each side, there are actually two separate plates that mount to it. The picture shown is incorrect for our car, but the plates were, in fact, correct. The instructions in the package looked like copies that are too many generations away from the originals. So do yourself a favor and find the installation instructions on the Blue Ox site.
Please be aware that there are some plates that have been made backwards and won't Apparently someone rotated the welding jig upside down while the parts were in it. The first time I called Blue Ox, I thought they were made upside down. I expected them to call me crazy or stupid for thinking they were made that way. As a matter of fact, they agreed with me! Their workers were aware of the issue, but could not track where the parts had gone. Upon receiving my issues, they sent another kit overnight to cover them for free. In addition to the above, I find the system very useful. It is a very easy to use program.
I got the item fast but the box was damaged and some parts appeared to be missing, I believe that was because it was open and so I am sending it back. I also purchased one for my other car, which looks perfect so after I install it I will post a review.
As for install, I did it myself, and it turned out well, but it's a pretty substantial job, and you'd probably only do one so you'd never get better at it. As soon as it is installed, it is sturdy and simple to use.
The product fits This 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk will be available soon.
Detaching the can be one of the most challenging aspects of this process. It was installed by the dealer as a part of the price of the Jeep that I paid from Roadmaster, along with my InvisiBrake. Great results are achieved with this combination. There are times when it's a little difficult to separate the Jeep from the RV, but easier if you're leveled out and the RV & Jeep are separately parked Each Jeep is directly in line with the Several people said the same thing to me make sure that you have a hammer handy. It was very helpful to talk with the factory before buying, and they guided me in selecting the right towbar for the job. Thanks for your suggestions. I'm very pleased with them.
