You will only get a 2" ball with this product.
This diagram illustrates the process. My guess is that it is just over 8 inches from the hole to the center of the ball.

This Curt product is well designed, the ball is welded, it looks clean, and its reduced weight and maintenance make it a great choice. I stow it underneath my cargo area floor of my Highlander, and it comes with a hitch pin. The 4X8 U-section I pulled with it was 4 feet by 8 feet To move my son into his college dorm, I had to haul a cargo trailer about 800 miles. It worked without a hitch.
The ride becomes less rough as a result of this A low number. There is one drawback of this hitch it rides low to the ground. I have a Class III trailer hitch on an Odyssey minivan. Though the hitch is limited to approximately 15 miles, it is still a convenient option. If I have a 350 lb tongue weight, I am always concerned about how low the ball hitch adapter will sit. It is for me to get more height at the ball so I bought it. Together with an 8 inch extender, it makes it possible to extend by 4 inches. Trailers of this size are easily towed with this combination.
It took awhile because the first ball dropped out of the package it was in and I received an empty box in its place. My buyer responded to my correspondence with another one, but by the time USPS packed it in a bag and secured it with a parcel tape, it had fallen out. Due to its solid steel construction, it did not sustain any damage. My Town and Country is low, so this was perfect for me. In the case of a sloping ground, the normal hitch was a bit awkward so I needed to find a cheap alternative. Some of the adjustable hitches are $80 or less. It would cost me $100 to pull my trailer, a cost I did not want to incur. Despite my best efforts, I was surprised how hard it was to find something as basic as this Since the ball is welded in place, it cannot be changed, so it isn't the one you want if you want to swap tow balls. There is a name brand behind Curt, and the weld looks strong and deep. As far as the weld goes, I wouldn't be concerned. There is a good chance that the trailer ball pulls off before the trailer tow bar. Customer happy with his purchase.
I got it then. My hitch was the best deal I could find and I believe having the swap I had made will make it work out great. I've always had good experience with Curt products, but their customer service has been less than adequate as of late. A better box needs to be provided by Amazon in order to ship To keep it from falling out, we had to put a lot more tape on it.
In contrast to ones that emerge straight from the head, this is a great alternative. This ball hitch mount is still too low at times to get the trailer on the tongue wheel on the RAV4, but that is not the fault of the In the near future, I do not intend to return to the other style.
A fantastic trailer lift that raises the trailer to the perfect height for towing. A minor problem is that there is a tiny bit of play between the receiver and the hitch. Having a problem is worrying me, but it hasn't happened so far.
With a stock spare tire, I could not open my rear gate door. I also had a separate 2" lift ball mount and ball mounted and I could open the door fine. I thought this would look cleaner because the ball is welded on, but it did not work.
We recently installed a hitch on the back of a Subaru forester so we needed a 2inch riser to go on it. This trailer was a good height for the vehicle that I used it with, and I had a Uhaul trailer behind it as well Finished the 700 mile trip without a hitch (no pun In contrast to some of the other reviews, mine included all of the parts. The complaint has not been filed.
