Can you tell me how easy it is to install this item? Can you suggest a model (Nissan Altima)?

You will be able to slide the Ball Mount with Ball into the receiver as described below. Two people should be able to do the job in half an hour. I spent 45 minutes on it, maybe It takes me 60 minutes on my own. The only problem was that I wasn't really keeping track of time.

Do you need to install an F150 van from 1997?

Suitable for all receivers with a 2" diameter.

Anyone know if this can be mounted upside down in order ?

It is true. When you flip it, you get a 1/2" rise vs. a 2-1/4 inch rise. You don't have to flip it if you drop it by 5". You should be aware of these things I really like how tight it is. The tool I used was a Reese hitch ball wrench (pn 74342 which you can buy on Amazon) along with a pair of It is only necessary to use a vice if the receiver has not been My channel lock pliers allowed me to hold the ball in place while I continued to loosen the nut with the wrench once the wrench moved.

I have a 2016 Tacoma that I use this with
5/5

After ordering the item and asking why not, Amazon told me repeatedly that it will not fit my 2016 Tacoma, all the while I was told it wouldn't. As soon as I received it, I threw it in my hitch. This bad boy looks and feels really well made, and I can't wait to use it! In addition, if your trailer hitch is a standard 2" x 2" size, then this ball mount should work.

Great price and great product
5/5

We have used this 2" trailer hitch a few times with no issues. The specs listed on this are a 2" drop or a 3/4" rise when flipped the other way. It can accommodate a gross trailer weight of 7500 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 750 lbs. While these are the specifications for the trailer hitch, every vehicle has several different ratings that should be the same as or lower than the hitch rating. It is important that you verify these numbers to ensure you are towing safely.

I used this mainly on an older 2001 Land Rover that had a bumper placed a bit too high, and the hitch needed to be moved down a bit. Two inches of drop was just right for this without sacrificing too much in terms of leveling a trailer. I was able to get a snug fit in my receiver after painting it black. There might be a tiny amount of rust in the receiver, however. My skin shouldn't have to go through extreme heat or cold so this is perfect. While it does not rattle around all the time, I would prefer it if it was a bit tighter. The hitch ball and hardware are of decent quality I haven't seen corrosion or rust buildup There is still a chance that the bolt securing the hitch ball isn't torqued correctly, but it is something that you should check anyway.

A hitch cannot be used on this small vehicle
3/5

When I tried to tow my boat two miles, it made a lot of noise and bounced. As if my trailer was going to fall off, I heard a loud crash. On the top and bottom of the mount, where it hit the edge of the hitch, the black paint was stripped away to the bare metal. Another person's suggestion of attaching self-help materials worked well for me Velcro strips that stick to the wall. In order to place strips on both sides, I placed strips on the top, bottom and one side. It was too tight to use My trailer seems to be securely mounted now, and I don't fear it will fall off anytime soon. Seeing as you will have to add padding for this to fit, you might want to look for another ball mount instead. In spite of this, it seems sturdy and built well.

There are other Amazon reviews where consumers say that his product is not compatible with their vehicles
5/5

I found this on my 2015 Toyota 4 Runner. This same statement was made about my 4Runner, but it isn't true. Towing hitches sold by Amazon need to be updated with new fitting parameters. When the manufacturer says it fits a 2" x 2" receiver, it's all you need to know.

Generally solid and higher than normal in terms of # rating, but ball does rust pretty quickly
5/5

I like it and I recommend it The only modification I made to it was to remove the words in the third line. c) I sprayed body sealer in the tube Under the black rubber seal there is a black rubber seal. As part of my daily routine, I spray them inside to minimize the chance of rust forming. In all hitches, the direction of travel is open & the hitch direction is open as well It is impossible for them to get rid of the water, so I make sure to protect them from day one. There is no way a metal this thick will rust out that fast. The result is a nice, large grease smear on my arm right when I cannot afford to change it instead, I let the arm rust. It's better to be safe than sorry. *Display of Disclaimer As I am apparently neither a good customer nor a good seller, no one ever gave me anything off Amazon If you post a picture of 'it' in action, are verbose enough, are factual enough, or if you don't buy enough stuff for me to warrant the curiosity of anyone looking for my opinion, then you lack enough opportunity to make your argument. In essence, what you get is the unadulterated truth as I see it.

Due to the higher hitch load of 750 pounds, I bought this one after losing my other hitch, as well as showing up in the photo where the pin hole was farther back than usual
4/5

I'm assuming that might be why it weighs 750 lbs vs 600 lbs, and, if I recall correctly, the Class III mount on the SUV can only hold 350 lbs. Among the problems is the style of pin, which has a hole in it rather than a slot to hold the holding clip in place. While I will bend it to a more open position, I think I will replace it with a different style in the near future. When you go to bed, have you ever tried to put a clip in the small hole? I find it strange that their hitch with the three-inch drop has the best clip system. When I go to Harbor Freight next, I guess I'll see if they have another one there maybe I could have looked had I known about the pin and clip issue with the Curt I bought earlier.

I like how it works
5/5

I towed a 6x12 UHaul trailer today, fully loaded, without any issues. It is a hitch with a ball, which seems like it would be hard to screw up something like this. My Amazon order says it won't fit my 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD, not sure why that is. It seems that Amazon should fix.
