There are no locking pins for the adjustment pins at the moment. The whole unit can be locked to the truck with a lock. It would be wise to have an extra set of pins with you if you are worried that someone might steal them.
This product does not come with a locking pin.
It would be fine to use either approach. It is easier to adjust the tongue height of a trailer with a 5” than a 7” tire. On my stock 2003 GMC Sierra and on my Saturn ION I have used it That is the 2016 RAM 3500 I have. It works perfectly. I hope this is helpful. Congratulations! Good luck with your project!

Everything about this hitch is great, and it does just about everything I want it to do. It may not be possible to steal the hitch head with the hitch locked to the receiver, but the three cotter pins that hold the head in place can be pulled out and the pins may be Do not ask me how I know it. It is much safer for me to come up with a safer solution than expect that the cotter pins will not be removed again. In order to thread all the pins, I purchased (on amazon) a generic 48" coated 18g security cable, folded it over twice, and I completed the process by placing the hoops in my hitch lock and locking My only downside here is that it will take a couple of seconds longer to secure and pull the cable than it would to pull the cotter pins, but my upside is that nobody can steal my pins any more.
In the case that you have a multipro tailgate and expect it not to touch, this product is not for you. It really does touch, as you can see in the picture. As such, my review is not directed at the seller but rather to the customer service department at B&H Fraudulent advertisements are denoted with an F.
The drop for your hitch should be either 5" or 7". I got an F- for my 2016 report cards There has been some mention of how great this trailer hitch is. It is not possible to steal the hitch ball from the car as others mentioned because the ball and assembly is rotating, but cannot be separated. You will however need a locking receiver pin otherwise someone are able to take The Master Lock receiver/hitch lock I bought from Napa Auto is the second one I own. This is a great tool. I have a 2016 Ford F-150 XLT in stock height There is a 5" drop on this hitch, and the hitch has a triangular design. An object. My trailer has a slightly high (above level) when I use the lowest setting. If they made a 6", I would totally use it. As a result, I am not able to get it perfectly level but since it is so small, I will not return It seems to me that with the 7" you might regret it if you dip over any kind of dip if you drop the bottom ball by two inches. This will almost certainly lead to you scratching the ball. There are others with different concerns/luck with their utility trailers, and I have a 5x8 utility trailer. While driving around with my trailer full, I did not hear any rattling or knocking, but I would recommend purchasing TWO products from their trailer hitch silencer line. A set of these square shaped rubber pieces fits over the metal stock of the trailer hitch and helps cushion and dampen any rattling or knocking. I did not notice anything before, but I am convinced you will not notice anything after wearing these. A 2016 Ford trailer hitch pin must be pushed firmly into place (or tapped with a mallet) after the hitch is pushed in and the hitch is pushed When it is too tight, it will be uncomfortable. There are two rectangular silencers between the receiver and the hitch and you can see them from the below picture. pretty well, but you'll need two of them at about $10 each to make it a very tight fit and free of rattles.
A 5 inch drop tri has been purchased Ball will be used on my Toyota Tundra TRD Pro 2017. Due to the uncertainty of the height of the trailer I was picking up, I did not know what drop to go for. To be safe and to make things easier, I opted for the 5in rise to be able to use the product Instead of the 3in drop, I should have gone for the 1in In my case I only needed to drop the trailer by an inch because of the 3000lb load. When I tried to back into a steep driveway from a level road, I would scrape the ground with the third ball. As I was trying to decide which size to get for my truck and couldn't find any reviews, I published this review in the hopes that someone else will as well. Besides that, this hitch is a great piece of equipment and I am extremely glad that I can adapt it to various trailer heights and coupling.
It is a nice hitch, but it has a few things I don't like about it, and I probably would have opted for a different one if I knew prior to buying the hitch. I have no idea how long it will take me to write this, so I am giving you this. Three pins are attached to the hitch, and each one has a cotter pin. Even if you pull out the pin for the hitch ball assembly, it can't be stolen. Alternatively, if you rotate that assembly so that the flat side is facing up, you can simply remove the other 2 pins and slide the whole thing If you go through these reviews, you will see that one other guy says he runs wires through those pins when he's not using it, and sure, you can detach it and throw it in the truck, but who is really going to be doing In order to avoid this, I recommend purchasing not only the locking pin for the hitch to the receiver, but also two more locking pins for the ball assembly so that the ball cannot be turned or moved. You are left with one pin that is still attached to a cotter pin. As a precaution, I tossed the two nonlocking pins into the truck just in case whoever was after that pin decided for some crazy reason to take it. You're looking at this hitch and purchasing 3 locking pins for it at the end of the day. There is also a plate that can be attached to the receiver for security, however, you must purchase that separately if you want to prevent that assembly from being removed. Because of this, I probably would have purchased another receiver or some other type instead.
Try-outs are one of my favorite things to do It is not necessary to carry several hitches in your truck since you have a ball hitch. This is an excellent hitch in general. There is a section where the balls make noise when you go down the road as a result of removing a star. There's a silencer that goes into the receiver to keep the hitch silent, but it would be nice if the manufacturer could come up with something to keep ball from bouncing and keep it.
It was a bit daunting to spend this much money on a hitch, but I have been looking for something durable and reliable. That's all there is to There is a lot of rattle and sloppiness in other adjustable hitches I've tried. I really like this one because it doesn't have much play and is in great shape. In fact, it even gives the vehicle a nice look. The only complaint I have so far is that I have used it only a few times. On my Jeep Cherokee 2015, I use it.
