This is a serious look at the installation by a professional
3/5

Is there really a need to warn winch companies? As an installer, I probably install 30 or more Warren winches each year, along with many others, for many different kinds of applications, and I have definitely noticed a decline in the quality of wiring provided by Warren over the last few years. By the way, is it true that you guys are running out of blue and yellow wire? You could at least add a foot or two, so that it could at least be used by Americans with ATVs and UTVs,. . . GEEZZZZZZZT! Though, the other wiring on the circuit is sufficient, if not, it's too long in general. As a first step, let's examine the blue and the white There is enough barley wiring in the yellow circuit provided by Barley, a size ,,by code,, to even handle the current that motors draw with no load on them, let alone under heavy load. Additionally, , once it is routed and installed it is so short that I cannot even play a tune on it. I normally use a much larger gauge wire now, six of the last ten installations I have completed with the supplied wire, the winch wires burned out very quickly. Also, there are no supplied breakers or even a fuse, which is vital for a proper installation. Also, the wire that is provided is barely long enough to reach the middle of a mid-sized quad let alone a larger model. I am wondering, why the heck are you supplying crappy wiring with your winch systems now, especially if it is one of the most expensive winches on the market. Many people do not want to spend a lot of money on a system just to have to spend more for wire gauge and fuses to make it safe. It is my opinion that saving a penny on wiring will only ruin your otherwise stellar reputation if you continue to do it. Due to this problem, many of my customers have been unhappy. It appears that the winches themselves have been of the same superior quality for years, but the supplied wire has fallen short of expectations of late.

This is a challenging installation The brand does not offer extra features or compete with any The "WARN" label is not as trustworthy as it seems
3/5

When I saw the WARN brand, I fell in love with it- If I had listened to the forums (I bought this for a 800cc ATV), I would have saved money. It is overpriced compared to competitors and does not come with standard equipment (remote control, etc. Wireless or wired) that should have a winch attached. One person needed to hold the power button on the ATV and another to guide the winch line to ensure even distribution over the winch drum in order to respool this winch. The SHORT blue and yellow cables that needed to be installed were yet another pain in the buttah- There was a need to cut the red and black wires of the power supply and reconnect them Make sure all the eyelets are joined together, as well as the blue/yellow wires are extended PIA in its entirety. There is no way I would recommend a friend this winch. If I were them, I would tell them to buy the KFI winch plate and.

It has scratches all over it when first opened
3/5

It could be that I am being picky, but when I pulled this out of the box, I found permanent marker all over it to cover up scratches, and the hardware packages had been opened, so I suspect this is a return item. Obviously, when I paid for a new winch, I expected it to be brand new, not scratched and scratched over.

The fit of some items can be a problem Despite several installation issues, Warn customer service responded promptly and gathered the necessary information in a timely manner
4/5

1) The specific Warn mounting hardware I needed for my ATV was purchased. A perfect fit was achieved with the base plate. We mounted the fairlead to the fairlead mount (which was supplied with the base plate), and then we attempted to mount the winch and fairlead mount on the Not at all. Since the mounting bolts for the fairlead were off by 1/4", the mount holds were not in square. It is possible that this was intended for something else other than this Anyhow, I had to wait an hour for my supervisor to call Make sure the fairlead mount plate is drilled. The customer service department told me Warn is moving away from the multiline model There are a few ATVs that require separate fairlead plates, so this might be an issue. 2) Bolts for mounting the winch. This is way too short. The first one I torqued down stripped out the 1/4-" hole The bracket contacted the first 3/8" of the mounting hole. Fortunately, there was still enough thread left for a longer bolt, which I then had to purchase from a hardware store. Moreover, we explained here that the mounting system consists of double plates. In the case of a single plate, the bolt would be fine. If you're mounting with a double plate, you should go ahead and measure through the lock washer, the mounting plates, and into the winch to see how long the bolt should actually be, and then get To ensure a perfect match, get the hardened stainless bolt that matches the included bolts, except for the The wire. 3) The video is too short, and the video is The wiring from the winch to the contactor - as one commenter pointed out - has to be in the reverse direction. A bright yellow and blue color scheme Even if the battery compartment is located directly behind or behind, it's a foot short of any possible mounting location. I have a medium-size In a motorcycle. The customer service was excellent in this case. I provided the dimensions and they offered a set of blue/yellows that were just a little bit longer, which were shipped for free. *Please note the bottom line remains I sincerely hope this winch will prove to be exceptional, given all the problems I have experienced thus As far as customer service goes, I'll say Warn topped the charts You've got it! These were not excuses, but explanations, and they fixed the problem by doing what was necessary. As soon as we are connected, I will adjust the rating. After installation, a post-install update is required Cables arrived just exactly on time, just the right length, and were easy to install. I bought a heavy-duty wire cutter and crimping set, as well as a set of end caps, and cut out my oversize cables myself. A perfect fit is achieved by using long wires. As a result of my son's assistance, I was able to unwind This window is very quiet, and everything works as it should.

Mounting the fairlead is not possible

This winch was intended to be mounted on my spinning wheeler with an appropriate Warn mounting kit, but neither the winch nor the kit included the mounting plate necessary for mounting.

The power and quietness of the system
5/5

I had to use this winch to pull a Pioneer 700 out of the mud the day after I installed it on my Honda Pioneer 500. It amazes me how powerful it is as well as When it comes to winches, quiet operation is a sign that it is built well. Metal gears are well machined and matched if this is the case. There is no way you can go wrong if you choose WARN.
