There is nothing wrong with it. A winch kit like this one is intended to use for powering a machine. Regardless of how you use it, it is yours to use. You can run the long cables from the battery to the rear of the vehicle to provide power while the short cables can be used to connect to something like a winch or you can store the short cables in the hood and deploy with clamps as jumper cables when needed. If the clamps are connected to metal under the hood, they can be disconnected in order to avoid shorting them. In addition to providing power to attachments attached to the front of the vehicle like a winch or snow blower, short cables can also be used. Kits of this kind cannot be found anywhere else.

This is not a product I would recommend to anyone. You can read about why in this article. I bought this set because it is set up so that it could provide power to my winch mounted on my hitch and booster cable connection on my rear bumper. Installation was simple and the initial performance was good. A few months ago, I tried to use the winch (less than nine months after I purchased the kit), but the winch would not operate when hooked up to the cable that goes from the battery to the rear of the truck (the 32 ft part of the kit). Until a week ago, I wasn't able to check the winch battery I used to power it, even though I was using an external car battery for the job. I checked it and found that the positive cable had broken off from the connector and the inside of the cable was A new end and connectors were bought to try to repair it, but the positive cable was badly corroded for much of the length of the 32 feet. In my opinion, the cable shouldn't have corroded to such a high degree, since I have worked for a towing company for years and had to use this type of booster cable connection regularly. It is odd that this cable corroded consistently for a whole year after being in use all year long. A message was sent to the seller through Amazon, but I did not receive a reply. This set should last longer than the few months I got out of it, in my opinion. I would caution you to stay away from this kit if the company will not correct this for you. If it lasts for more than a few months and only a few uses, that would be great. My understanding of premature failures is well-known to me, and I have given the seller the opportunity to discuss this, but the seller has so far not responded. In the current state of affairs, I would not recommend this product.

Using this product on my Toyota Tundra for a winch installation was a breeze. It is a good length for running up the trucks frame underside with extra wire, so you do not have to worry about reaching the limit of the wire. There are both lengths in this kit to meet that need. The jumper rod portion also allows me to plug my winch into the jumper wire portion.

I have a new 20ft car hauler trailer with a 5K winch. With this kit I will be able to modify my crew-cab duramax to fit my needs! The unit looks well put together and comes with a stand alone parrot clamp setup that works with close proximity batteries, which is something that anyone running a winch knows is great to have in case it fails! Since there is an option for posting videos, I may post one as soon as I get it installed.
