This is mounted on the back of my 5th wheel on a 4x4 bumper. It is extremely stable, which is why I have given it two stars rather than one. br>br>My problem is that the vertical is too short for a 225/75/15 tire, as the tire's bottom is flush with the bumper's bottom. It may be a good product, but they chose to save money by using low-cost, flimsy components. We ordered this tire carrier for our class C motor home after doing some research online and calling a local RV dealer. The product arrived quickly, but after removing it from its packaging (and discarding it), we began closely inspecting it. We were concerned about the tire carrier's ability to support our RV's spare tire and considered modifying it to make the supports stronger. We came up with a plan after talking with a welder, but on the back of the installation sheet, in the middle of the page, it states that the item is only for travel trailers, not motor homes or class C RVs. We are now stuck with the item, and the cost was low, so that is not the issue; the issue is the inconvenience of having something custom built for our needs.
