In the chain size, Gary, a 16 represents the outside diameter of the tire. A 6 refers to the inside diameter of the tire. The width of the tire at its widest point is 50 inches. Therefore, these chains are designed to fit a tire that has a size marked on the sidewall equivalent to the 16 x 6". Each side of the equation is fifty by eight. One important point to note is that a steel rim's diameter is measured on the inside of the tire where the bead contacts the steel rim, not on the largest diameter. It is rare to find a 9" diameter. There is only one garden tractor tire available with a 9" rim, that is 25 x 9 x 12. This is from a company named Carlisle that produces just about any garden tractor tire there is. It would be wise for you to re-read Given that the outside diameter of the rim is 16 inches, measure the diameter of the rim. There is a suspicion that the rim measures 8 inches. Secondly, you would want to pay attention to the width of your tire. A width greater than 6 is considered wide. You should probably buy a wider size. Chains like these will likely slip off during use, so you should buy a wider size.
In fact, yes. If they are 16" tall x 6", it doesn't matter who makes them as long as they are 16" tall x 6". In my opinion, 5" wide is sufficient. This is the rim, which has very little bearing on the result. In addition, they are perfectly functional.
It's the same problem I have the chains fall between the bars. I have large knob tires on my bike, so I'm convinced that you will also have it. There is no traction produced by the chain because it is smaller than the height of the bar. It is my pleasure to help.
they are only used on the front tires of my large garden tractor when plowing snow on my driveway and throughout the roadway with a 56" blade. This keeps the front of the tractor from going sideways when pushing snow several inches deep. Ice can be broken up well with chains. Unless one is employed at the factory making chains, when employees may purchase the product, there are numerous middle-man options. In between the manufacturer and the purchaser, there are intermediaries.

So far, I have given them four stars. I have not had a chance to test them out in the snow, but they'll get one more if they live up to my expectations. I was satisfied with the quality of installation and installation went well. The excess was cut off using a pair of bolt cutters. The chains worked pretty well, and I believe they will stay in place even after letting some of the air out of the tires. Putting the chains on a little at a time with some pressure on the tires also worked pretty well.
Fitting and construction of the chains are excellent. The snowblower tires have very deep lugs (treads), therefore, the chains do not fit down in between the treads and will therefore do very little to improve total Instead of choosing a chain style with a symmetrical cross pattern, I probably should have chosen a diagonal cross style. It is a good idea to purchase that type of chain next year, and keep these. It's not clear to me. It's nothing.
Rather than Sten chains, the chains I received came from Peerless. In spite of this, the quality of the product was as described. As a result of following the instructions given to me in the box, I found that the first set of chains I received was defective. For safety reasons, it is first advisable to lay the chains with the crosshooks facing up so that they do not twist. A cross hook on one of the chains was facing the wrong way, so one chain contained kinks that could not be removed. However, WNY Small Engines dealt with this problem very effectively by mailing a second set of chains immediately after discovering the problem. The snowblower I have installed them on last week. While I only used it with the chains on once, I found that they performed as As a result, a set of "QG20030 Quik Grip Small Tire Traction Chain Rubber Tighteners" was necessary AND a short bungee cord was run through the perimeter of the cross chains to ensure that these chains are tight enough.
There are two My original three link spacing caused problems with traction, so I increased the link spacing and expanded the tread coverage. The tubing is very well made, but may need to be cut to fit, in which case a bolt cutter would be needed. Using a drive-on multi-point installation method makes installation simple Alignment blocks are available in segmented versions as well. You should deflate the tires to much lower pressure to make the connection easier, then inflate them for a.
It was a disappointment to return these chains because they would not fit the front tires of my John Deere riding lawn mower that I use for snow blowing. It would have been nice if they had steering traction.
Contains tension straps that allow it to fit snug on tires. There is a need to check the clearance between some lawn tractors' front tires. Be sure to use thick gauge steel and follow instructions carefully to ensure links are placed correctly. For traction, keep your tractor straight when using a blade to blow snow and when mowing steep hills.
It's better to hook the backside of the tires before hooking the front, since there isn't much room to work on the front. Afterwards, you have to work the cross pieces around the knobs of the tires, all while working in the cold. In order for the chains to stay tight to the tires, I had to buy a set of rubber chain snubbers. It is not enough to use the hook on the chains. After everything was done, the chains acted as they should and are still acting as they should. I have no problems with them.
Attached to the front end of my vehicle is a snow thrower. As of yet, no weights have been used for traction. A plow blade is also among the things I own which I have not tried It's a good idea to install tensioners as well. This is a great purchase!.
