These were purchased to serve as marker guides when backing into my driveway. My driveway's closest section to the road crosses an open creek, and it's easy to tip over into the water. I placed these sticks on either side of the creek, but they are too short or too wide to be seen from the driver's seat, so they are useless for my purposes. Because they are difficult to see, they are also easy to knock over with a lawn mower.
These markers are almost completely devoid of reflective properties, rendering them nearly useless. They may suffice if you only need to mark something hidden in deep snow. Because the stakes are thin and the tape does not reflect light well, they provide no visibility in low-light situations. situations that are light.
These aren't nearly as reflective as I'd like. For them to reflect that they are there, the vehicle must be very close.
If you live in the desert or near a beach, I'm sure you could push the reflectors into the sand, but pounding them into the dirt is nearly impossible due to their lack of rigidity. Consider a wet spaghetti strand. There is a far superior product made by "MyRide" that is twice the diameter and simple to hammer into the ground (real ground, not beach sand). It's a fairly straightforward product, but it's sturdy and attractive, with a highly reflective stripe.
This is a fantastic product that does exactly what it should. They're used to identify our mail box as well as a few trees. Our sons haven't hit any of them with their cars since they were installed. . . . and the markers are still intact!.
