There are two wires: one goes to ground (screw it into your frame or body), and the other goes to power. The other wire connects to the reverse light wire, which you can inspect by removing the reverse light housing. Simply connect the wire leading to your white reverse light with a wire splicer/connector. It was very simple to set up. I don't recall if there were any detailed instructions, but I do recall that there were some basic instructions. It's also quite loud!
When you put your vehicle in reverse and power is applied to the unit, it emits a repeating warning sound at the back of your vehicle, alerting anyone who may be out of sight. The sound is similar to that of a small but loud foghorn.
Yes, it runs on 12 volts, and the hot lead from the reverse light goes to the red wire before returning to ground, and it works perfectly.

If you work in the construction field, you'll need this. I installed it with a fuse and switch after wiring it directly to the battery. Because this device isn't required in my community, this was the best option. It's well-made and appears to last a long time, and the sound quality is fantastic. I like that I have control over when the unit is turned on, rather than being limited to when the reverse lights are turned on. br>br>It took me a long time because I had to go through the firewall and remove the indoor molding on the door jams to hide the wires. It had been well worth the effort. br>br>Knowing when equipment is being moved on the job site makes our employees feel safer. br>br>5 STARS.
This reverse alarm was purchased to replace one that had been in my possession for over ten years and had begun to fail. Though my old one was only 102db, I'm not sure if I can tell the difference in loudness when thinking back to when it was working properly; I believe what matters is that you're heard loud and clear while going backwards.
I recently purchased a new work truck and desired a backup beeper similar to the one in my previous vehicle. This one is 100% better than the one I had before. The tone is rich and clear. My CAT skid steer has one similar to this. It took me about 30 minutes to complete the installation. I'm blown away by how tough it is. It was made of plastic when I had the previous one.
Purchased as a back-up alarm for industrial sites. So far, everything is going well. The volume is unquestionably a draw.
I'd make another purchase!.
The alarm was simple to set up and is loud enough for me to hear it from inside my truck.
This was purchased as a gift for my Trinidad-based brother. He is extremely 100% pleased that he finally got something for his vehicle that actually does what it is supposed to do which is to beep loud enough to be heard.
It's fantastic.
