Do not use it. The cover is appealing to me. As we can see, it appears to be made out of the same material as the soft top, but with a similar foam padding lining on the inside as the original roll bar cover does. Due to my soft top never fading, I hope this will be the last time I have to purchase a cover for my car. You won't have to worry about attempting to restore the dark color of your original roll bar covers using Krylon fabric spray paint if you do this instead. Only one thing prevented me from giving it a perfect 5 star rating Very tight, had some difficulty getting the front and rear pieces to match up (attached by The design pattern of 2) is pretty similar to Since the zipper fabric on the original fades horribly as it faces the sun when it's exposed to the sun, I suspect that after a few years it will fade and become a lighter To prevent this, we would like it moved to the bottom or inside of the roll bar (or switch to a velcro strip instead of they hook and loop). 3) waterproofing (made of the You would probably have to take the soft top off or at the very least unzip it if received rain or water became trapped in the end cutouts or on the hardware. This could be a real pain if they get wet. If Rugged Ridge were to design a vinyl cover like this using Velcro instead of zippers and creating a larger diameter but still using a thick layer of padding inside (to give you more adjustability) rather than making it so form fitting, I would like to see that. The original was better, but I feel this one is better. In the future I will update this post if any problems occur. The purchase I made is quite satisfactory to me. Vinyl is the most suitable material if your roll bar covers need to be replaced.
This product review covers version 05. It is possible to find forums with faded roll bar cover ideas. My feedback and recommendations now that I've tried just about every option are as follows You should not even try to Rit dye the old one, it is not recommended. I have found that paint can be effective as a fabric spray paint, so please give that a try before purchasing. As I use a spiderwebshade, my old one had worn through in a few spots so it was time for me to replace it. There are only two options available for replacement roll bar covers (at least for the JK model) poly and vinyl replacement roll bar covers from Rugged Ridge. In the beginning, I purchased the less-expensive poly bag (Poly - is the less expensive There are 13613 items in this category. The first). Somehow, mine seems to have been made from materials from two different lots. Depending on the section, you will see more reflectivity and blue stars while others will show similar colors as the original -- It has a dull, true black appearance (more fabric-like). Below you can see some of the images that I have attached to demonstrate what I mean. The following are some of the most recent changes Review of that item can be found separately). had been received, I removed the poly to return it, and when I removed the fabric to show it's faded, I found that the sections I saw as blue had faded in just 1 month (I'll attach additional photos to demonstrate This fade did not appear in the sections that appeared more blackish in color (at least not after a Nevertheless, since the material is an entirely different material, basically instant fading, and I compare it to the vinyl cover once that arrives, I am unable to recommend this product. A vinyl record is a great choice.
Having known that, you'll also want to know that Jeep uses Loctite on the bolts, so you will have to use considerable force to remove them. Additionally, whether you round out the heads of the Torx bolts or skip the threads, you'll be forced to use a pipe wrench to remove them. An impact wrench would be my next step. I'm sure you'll enjoy your new roll bar covers if you do that.
In a nutshell, Installation was relatively easy and I would highly recommend it. This is an extremely durable product.
Despite the fact that we have not put the new ones on, they look fantastic. That doesn't appear to be an easy task. After they are on, their presence will be so pleasant.
I have given the 07 JKU a fresh look. It is best to let the install bake before installation. Definitely a tight fit from the factory!.
Fitting OEM replacement was a perfect fit in terms of design and cut. Although the quality is poor, the price is right. During stretching the fabric over the rollbars, the stitching pulled away from the Velcro and ripped the fabric. I managed to make it work, but it is likely to be a short-lived solution. This is not a product I would buy again and to be honest shouldn't be replacing it since the construction is such that I won't be able to.
It is an excellent upgrade to the JK roll bar padding that came with my 2015 model.
