It is not possible to bend aluminum box channels. In this case, the small tolerance of 0.001 would prevent it from sliding into the groove.
It really does a good job, the reason I use them is to make rock pits on my Airstream It's a good idea to be careful where the exhaust blows on them when you use them on a truck to tow a trailer. Although they will melt, I'm still happy with them overall.
Better yet, you can buy a piece of tube that is just long enough to extend past the truck tires (whatever their width is) so that you can attach the brushes to it. Buy square tubing that will fit into your receiver hitch, drill a hole so you can put a hitch pin in, and weld an upright piece to the upright piece so that your square tubing is level with the top or bottom of your bumper (whichever you like best). Towing can be made easier by slipping it into the receiver hitch, and not towing can be made easier by taking it off. You may also make it so it fits around your receiver hitch, as I did when I made one for my mom, if you intend to pull a bumper pull trailer. It would be better if I could post a picture so it would be more clear

When you tow a car behind a motorhome, you can seriously damage the paint job of the towed car due to rocks and other debris kicked up by the motorhome In order to prevent this kind of damage, there are two common barriers attached to the motorhome. Two types of brushes are available a heavy, solid rubber mat and a brush with bristles. While a solid shield is weighted along the bottom with a metal strip, the debris will float past at highway speeds because it lifts off the ground several inches. The brush, on the other hand, allows airflow through the strands while maintaining a barrier. Quite a few people have benefited from using it.
I found that drilling a good hole and using a Philips bit was easy enough to install the brushes and mounting bracket. In the end, I had to cut a few to length because of the trailer hitch mount, and that was fairly easy to do It is important to note that after installing the brushes into mounts, it is wise to crimp the ends so brushes will not wiggle away from the mounting.
In order to protect the towed vehicle, I did not want to place additional burdens on the road. I found the Splash Stop Protective Brush to meet these needs. It is amazing how fast Amazon shipping is! Upon arrival, everything was intact and on time. The combined length of both segments was too long for my truck, so I adapted and resolved Assembling the segments with machine screws, flat washers, split ring washers, and wing nuts with overlapping at the center of the truck was my method. In the end, I attached the assembled brushes to the frame of the truck and tow receiver To save time and money, all threads are cut to length and flattened I found split washers and hex nuts during my 1600 mile trek through the Southwest Four Corners in spring time snow and rain. My toad came out unharmed. The viola has been played!.
I found that there were no hardware bolts, and that both the brushes and the aluminum mounting channel were I can't believe how poor the packaging is! Having contacted Amazon, I was unable to get a response, so I was left with the task of resolving the matter as best as I could in time for my trip next In order to help with the installation of these screws, I went to HD to purchase some SS screws and aluminum angle iron. The attachments are about 18 MB My reason for moving them 20" behind the rear axel was that I didn't like the look of them sitting off the In saying all that, I believe they should do the trick, and they are priced very reasonably compared to rubber type, but I only wish the manufacturer would pay attention to these reviews and pack them much more carefully! I've got 7-" I did a four day trip about 1,200 miles in 2020. Despite the tough material, they have so far remained intact and protected my toad car. This is a company that I would recommend.
It has not yet been used by me. Three days after the delivery date was indicated, it was delivered. The next morning it arrived and I had no time to install it since I needed it the next morning. A piece of carpet pad that I had left over became a temporary splash guard. I almost sent this one back because it worked so well. The device was kept, but I wasn't happy with how it would be installed because it would have prevented my sewer hose from being stored in the rear bumper and it would have also been in the way of my hitch mechanism. For them, I had to build a mounting bracket that I bolted to the frame of my RV about 18 inches in front As you can see, the hitch and storage for the sewer hose are out of the way. A youtube video of the installation would have been nice, but there's a very good one already I have it configured as I have it now, and it appears very functional and good looking. From one of the reviews I read, the guard's bristles raise to a height that does not comply with the wind while the RV is moving. The first time I put it to the test will be when I finally get to travel. My plan is to weld a few loops made from rebar to the bracket I made and place them 6 inches to 8 inches down to press against the bristles if I find it too flexible. So the bristles will stay closer to the pavement, that should stiffen it up.
In comparison with other products, this one has good quality and it's easy to install. Only one thing I would strongly suggest is BETTER PACKAGING to help prevent damage in shipping! Here is an example (See image below. looked exactly as in Neither outside packaging nor inside packaging was present. It is my view that there are far too many good and inexpensive protective options available today for products to remain This also gives the manufacturer a bad name if they allow their products to leave the warehouse in this state. I would recommend this splash guard to others and will do so in the future. There is a need for someone to take action on the company's "Quality Control".
The hose for my septic tank is stored in the bumper of my Class C motorhome with a 4" diameter. A set of 3/4-inch mounting screws is included with the brush. In addition, I would have interfered with the hose storage if I had used the screws. of a 9/64, I used a 3/10 (16. I needed to install it faster than if I had forced screws into the bumper, and the rivets did not interfere with the hose since the interior is smooth.
The channel for the brush guards was easy to install. As we don't use the bumper for storing sewer hoses, we attached it to the bumper. Trimming the brushes to the proper length, so that they just touched the ground, was a very difficult task. It is difficult to cut the plastic strands and you have to trim them one by one It took me 5 hours to trim 5 pieces of the hair at a time. Needless to say, my hands and fingers were very sore after that. We had to trim the tree for hours.
