The 48852 is a number eight, not a number eight. Mirror is 5 inches in diameter. The stainless 5" mirror can be found in part 48502.
A smaller one of mine cracked when the water in it froze. br>In the winter, I cover it with a baggie. It's possible that a silicone call would be effective.
It should be fine because it was designed to be used as an auxiliary mirror for the large west coast mirrors.

To avoid confusion, the mirror body's shell is highly ferric, which means that while it may be a very low grade stainless, it will eventually rust; I suspect the seller is simply using the stainless appearance as a selling point, relying on a lack of clarity to lead buyers to believe they are purchasing a long-lasting product. br>br>Easy to install, nice stiff ball joint that shouldn't drift. The surface of the mirror is lovely. However, it's all about aging in the open air. br>br>There isn't a drain. I debated whether or not to drill one. The gasket should keep the water out, hopefully. Drilling a hole in plain chrome-plated steel invites rust.
We used to have to check for packages by opening the front door. Although we have a peep hole, the viewing angle is insufficient to see near the bottom of the door. We hung this mirror on the porch railing, and now a quick peek out the window allows us to see the entire door area and more. It has exceeded our expectations!.
A must-have item at a great price! These replaced the factory-installed flat mirrors. WOW is all I have to say. My 1997 27-foot class C motorhome has a solid foundation. When driving and changing lanes, I can see at least two lanes, which is a huge help! They don't look as good as rectangular truck mirrors, but being able to see all of the traffic around me is crucial. I chose the black ones to avoid any potential refractions that the chrome ones might cause. It's so nice to be able to see what's going on around you instead of looking through factory mirrors. Because objects are smaller in these types of mirrors, it may be difficult to see the hands of the person who is spotting you when you back up. Request that they make more dramatic hand movements or that they stand a little closer to you. These types of mirrors are found on almost every large truck. That's why I decided to give them a shot, and now I see why they're so popular. On Amazon, the price is significantly lower than it would be if you bought it locally. Hardware was included with the product. To adjust them, you'll need to loosen a few screws. They will not move after being tightened, and their adjustment has been well maintained. There are no instructions for making this change.
I'm sure people buy this for reasons other than mounting it to a vintage vehicle, so some alternative attachment methods would make it a lot more convenient to use. To mount it on a wall, I had to alter it and purchase additional components. In addition, the range of adjustment is limited. It must be mounted precisely at the angle you want it to reflect, and it must remain at that angle for the duration of the reflection.
I'm still figuring out how to put it up because there are no instructions. I'll figure it out, but it would be helpful if there was a hint on how to install it.
Work is very good. Small flat mirrors are far inferior. To eliminate those massive blind spots, plan on getting two more.
I thought it was fine for what I needed it for at first, but then the coke arrived, and water seeped into the mirror, froze, and cracked it! I received a replacement mirror from Amazon, but I would not buy it again.
It functions in the same way as any other convex mirror. Produces a wide field of view, which aids in the elimination of the large blind spot. The constriction and price are far superior to the mirrors I found in my big-name local parts stores (with the exception of those at the local NAPA store, which were nearly three times the price). br>In conclusion:
- Shiny, 8. 5" Round Convex Mirror with a wide field of view that reflects images.
- Yes, I would purchase/order these mirrors again (in fact, I purchased a spare based on other reviews)br>- No, I don't think I squandered my money. br>- Yes, I would tell a friend about this productbr>- No, I was not paid in any way to give my opinion (some people enjoy giving their opinion even if you don't ask for it)br>- Yes, I believe this is an excellent value for money product.
