I come from a place where locks come with unique keys. This key has nothing unique about it as you can see from the pictures. With the "key" in the first photo, there are two slots on either side which are pushed onto the poles of the pin (second It releases the pin when you turn it and push it. However, when I learned that it only took 30 seconds to open the lock with a pair of needle nosed pliers, I thought I may keep them. It only took one go for me to get it. It is not necessary to have a key. In the event of loss of the "key," you can still use a common tool to open the lock )- I was impressed with the thickness and quality of the hood latches themselves. Despite my best efforts, I think it would be hard Steel is all they are made of, as advertised. In the event that I were going to choose a non-profit Locking hood latch, these are definitely options I would think about. My preference was to have locking latches, so I will be returning these and starting all over. The frustration is real.

The rims fit perfectly on my brand new 2021 Wrangler 4xE. Keeping your hood locked and tight will make you look great. The installation of the software has been problematic for others too. As for my installation, all the nuts and bolts were in place, and 3 allen keys are included. Aside from the included tools, I did not need to purchase any additional parts or tools. In my case, the installation took about 15 minutes. As they are locking now, they are more of a hassle, so I keep the 'key' in my center console (which prevents 99. 9% of people from trying to open my hood, even when I have my top There is no way around it since locking pins are inherently insecure. The price was also excellent, 5 stars all the way!.

Installation was simple and the hood is adjustable so it keeps from flapping as the Jeep moves. I just wanted to point out a few minor details before putting it on. The Rubicon 2019 is the one I used. An allen type head is on the bottom attachment bolt (it is made up of two pieces, so you have As a result of the fender, I had to grind the winch head down so that it fit between the fender and the bolt head in order for it to be tightened. If you want to tighten up the threads, I suggest using locktite. The only other thing is that the bolts which come off the existing latches cannot be reused. This just means you'll need to buy more tools, and this product comes with only one size allen wrench so you'll need a set of hex screw bits or an allen wrench.

Thank you for sharing. I think they look good and seem In the end, I removed the lanyard because I didn't like its design. Their locking system, adjustable features, and high security make them extremely safe. The only negative thing is that there is no instruction. There are no complicated instructions on how to install these, just three bolts, but I did not see the rubber backing until after I put them on, so I didn't. It will take 10mm and 13mm to complete this installation. Basically, all I had to fix was the hardware was too long, so a normal socket would come out the bottom.

You'll have no trouble using the tools when you have the right ones. I am very pleased with the look and build quality of these considering their price. Time will tell how well they hold up, but I am quite pleased.

The first thing to point out is that there are no "instructions," but figuring out how to use it is quite simple. If you must, you can watch videos on YouTube. During the installation, both metric and standard sockets as well as hex wrenches will be required. Regardless of which you choose, if you have a 2009 Jeep Wrangler you'll need to either widen or re-size The factory holes from the original bottom latch of the hood should be drilled. Any potential burglar will be deterred from trying to open your hood with these. It has a very strong adjustment screw that I will have to cut down afterwards, but I am delighted with how sturdy it is.
