It fit our 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport, and I believe it would fit a 2011 Jeep Wrangler as well.
I had to cut it down to size with a circular saw and a metal blade. It's quite thick, but you can cut through it with a pair of heavy snips.
These were made for the JK, not the other way around.
No, there isn't a hoodie-style hole.

I strongly advise you to do so. As you can see in my photo, I got the flag one. I sprayed it with Poly first to make sure it didn't rust, and it actually turned out better than the original; just make sure you use clear poly. At least two coats on the front and one on the back are required. Remove the 6 reusable plastic rivets; I bought new ones in case I damaged them, but I didn't need a single one. Lean the grill forward and place the top of the screen under the grill's lip first, then rest the bottom of the screen on the metal frame in front of the radiator. There was no need to cut it, and it was a perfect fit. There's a notch in the middle of the notch. Cut a hole in the bottom for a wiring harness, which fit perfectly, then pushed the grill back in place and pushed the plastic push pins back in place. It probably took no more than 5 minutes, and the result is impressive. Yesterday, I drove for two hours in stop-and-go traffic in 80-degree weather, and I noticed no difference in temperature from normal. Love it! No worries if you don't want to use poly; if it rusts, a new one is simple to install and inexpensive to replace every few years.
Remove the pressure push pins that hold the top of the Jeep grille in place, gently pull the top of the grille forward, and release the tabs that hold the bottom of the grille in place on the driver's side (I left the other side attached). Push everything back together after slipping the grille insert behind the Jeep grille. You'll need to wiggle the insert a little to make sure it's fully seated and the provided notch is in the right spot. It'll be a little cramped - It's supposed to be a little cramped - It is held in place by this. br>br>I own a 2017 Sahara Smokey Mountain Edition with the double grille (which came with glossy black grille inserts). I was worried that the tabs on the back of the grille, which are unique to the Sahara models and come with black or silver inserts, would prevent me from using this item unless I made some changes - However, once it was fully seated behind the Jeep grille, it fit perfectly. It didn't need to be cut or altered. It's a snug fit, which is great because it keeps everything in place. The grill's notch perfectly conceals the wires. Love it! br>br>It looks great and gives you the protection you need while still allowing for adequate airflow. This purchase has exceeded my expectations.
This is a fantastic addition to my Jeep. It was very simple to put together, though I did have to cut it down a little. The mesh grill has a small cutout on the right side that I had to enlarge by about 1/2 inch or the grill wouldn't fit all the way in. Simply remove the grill's clips and lift the grill slightly. Place the flag mesh grill on the grill and slide it in. Return the object to its original position. Replace the clips in their original positions.
I don't consider this a mesh grill; it's more like a flat piece of steel with round holes drilled or punched in it; honestly, there's too much flat metal between holes, blocking a lot of air flow; and magnetic steel that can rust. I don't consider this a mesh grill; it's more like a flat piece of steel with round holes drilled or punched in it; and magnetic steel that can rust. br>If you live in a cold climate, you might be able to get away with it, except for the rust. Because I live in the desert, this grill would almost certainly overheat my car in the summer.
It's very simple to install, and it's the perfect size to fit between the Jeep grille and the radiator surround, ensuring that it stays put. It conceals the unsightly radiator and everything else hidden behind the grille; yes, you can see through it, but it casts a shadow on the background, making it invisible. Larger insects and debris are also kept out of the radiator this way. I was worried about restricting air flow for cooling, but it hasn't been an issue so far, even on days with temperatures in the mid-90s. If your radiator is clogged with bugs, it will be less efficient, and this grille insert will keep the bugs out. Before inserting it, I polished it, and the bugs were easily washed away.
Nice $. The screen is exactly what I needed. Based on one of the reviews on this site, I was a little concerned, but I believe the reviewer was unaware of the location of the screen behind the grill. The screen fits perfectly, the hole is perfectly aligned, and it wedges into the grill by sitting on top of the bottom clips. If you prefer, you can install it without removing the entire grill. br>br>Extremely pleased, it looks great and is a great value. On a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, the system was installed.
It is very simple to set up. This item looks great and appears to be of good quality, so I'm very happy with it. I was a little unsure about the installation, so I watched a video on YouTube to get a feel for it before going ahead and doing it. It's so simple that even my 5-year-old daughter could do it. It involved removing approximately 8 pegs that hold the grille in place, sliding the grille screen behind the grill, and replacing the pegs. To be honest, it took two. I spent more time watching the YouTube video tutorial than I did actually installing it, which took 3 minutes. br>br>It's amazing how a seemingly minor addition (a black grille guard) can make such a significant difference in the Jeep's front end appearance. It gives it a finished, high-end appearance. I was concerned about how durable it would be, especially since other options involved zip ties, which appeared to be a low-cost option. There are no fasteners on this, and it appears to clip into place on the bottom and snap into place on the top. When you push the grill back into place and secure it with the pegs, it holds it in place very securely. It doesn't appear to rattle or jostle out of place in any way. I believe it will provide adequate protection against small rocks and debris, which was my primary motivation for purchasing it, but it also significantly improves the appearance of the front end. This item has pleasantly surprised me, and it costs half as much as the grille guards advertised in Jeep parts magazines.
(I didn't have to, by the way. ) br>br>I put it in my stocked grille, then upgraded to the grumpy/angry grille, and I was worried it wouldn't fit properly. Well, guess what? It also looks fantastic.
