As a result, I investigated a variety of brands and types. When I decided to look at Amazon, I was on the verge of spending $60 on a set. I saw a few cheaper sets, but after reading the reviews, I decided to avoid those that used double-sided tape. I bought these because they snapped in for only a few dollars more. It took me two minutes to snap them all in. br>br> They're all snug and made a loud snap (so you don't have to worry about them blowing off). They appear to be fantastic. I assumed it was to show how they appeared when they were installed on many of the photographs I've seen. I've included a before and after photo so you can compare the two.

During the fall season, I'd have a problem with leaves and debris getting stuck inside the grille opening. It was always clogged with leaves, preventing the radiator from working. These push-in clip-on grille overlays do the job well and are reasonably priced. br>br>Despite the great design, there was no provision for an opening for my Tuffy hood lock. I was able to enlarge a hole large enough to fit my key inside the lock because the ABS material was soft enough. br>br>Aesthetics aside, this item accomplishes the task at hand. With these in place, there is no risk of overheating. It doesn t sit 100% on the factory grille but it doesn t sit on the factory grille but it doesn t sit on When installed, there is a small gap near the bottom, YMMV. It wouldn't hurt to spray a coat of clear coat on top to keep it from fading due to exposure to the sun.

I ordered these because I was sick of sticks and leaves getting into my radiator and was afraid I'd puncture it while hiking. Despite being made of plastic, these appear to be quite durable. I gave it five stars for adhesion because they don't actually use adhesion to stick the pieces together; instead, tension clips are used. They clip on nicely, and I don't have to clean up a bunch of old adhesive rings on the front of my grill (which I plan to repaint at some point). br>br>To go with these, I bought some matte black headlight bezels, which look great on my patriot blue Jeep TJ. If you look closely, you'll notice a slight bend in the grill just above halfway; these account for it and provide a really nice seamless insert for the grill to add a little extra protection.

These are a fantastic, low-cost way to add some pizzazz to your grill. It only takes 5 minutes to set up and you're ready to go. There's no need for double-sided tape, and there's no danger of overheating. I'm not sure what the other reviewers got, but these were easy to put together.

The Hooke Road Black Front Grille Clip is what I got. Both the Hooke Road Wrangler TJ Matte Black Headlight Bezels Cover Trim and the in Mesh Inserts are of excellent quality and look great when used together. The two kits are a perfect match, which was a concern when I was shopping for them. It was literally a snap to install the grill insert! Push in gently until the lock tabs snap into place, then lightly tap on them with your hand to ensure all four tabs are seated. Rep with the rest of them six more times, then take a step back and admire your accomplishments. It took me as long to open the box and place it in my recycle bin as it did to install these, and they look fantastic! They also give me peace of mind because there are no large sections of radiator that could be a target for rocks and other debris, whether on or off the road.

Trick for setting up the system. These look fantastic on my 2004 Jeep TJ Sport; they fit perfectly and are flush, as well as being extremely tight. There is a trick to putting it together. Because mine didn't come with instructions, I had to rely on trial and error. The inserts appear to be identical on both ends, but they are directional, which is probably due to the grill's curvature. I didn't realize they were directional when I tried the first one, so it didn't fit flush. I tried a second one and inserted the bottom first, then pushed on the sides as I moved up, snapping it in place for a perfect fit. For the rest, I put each in the bottom, then repeated steps 2 and 3. If they fit flush, that's great; if they don't, I pulled them out, flipped them, and they fit perfectly; I went back to the first one, pulled it out, flipped it, and everything fit perfectly; and there's no need to unscrew the plate to install it.

You get a nice armored look from the road debris as well. I've had them on for a few weeks and they appear to be holding up well, with no fading or anything. If you want everything to match, spray paint the headlight bezels black like I did.

Install in a heated environment or when the weather is warm. It looks fantastic. So far, they haven't let me down after three months. The tape appears to be ineffective, but it actually works. Installing tape like this in a warm environment, in my experience, is necessary. Wait until the temperature is above 40 degrees if it is extremely cold outside. The adhesive liner is a pain to remove, but that's to be expected with tape of this nature. Place the grill insert in place and push for about 30 seconds with everything you've got. They are attractive and conceal the unsightly metal components hidden behind the grill.
