It is dependent on the year. As a result, I would double-check with the manufacturer before making a purchase.
Mine has been in my possession for about two or three years. It appears to be in good condition. It has faded a little, but it is barely noticeable.
It's unclear whether they can be safely removed.
It's all part of a package. I honestly believe they are identical, so the passenger side simply turns the other way to fit. By the way, they're fantastic. Simply clean the surface thoroughly and allow to dry to ensure that the adhesive adheres well.

So I ignored all the negative reviews and bought this product, and I'd like to say to everyone who said "cheap product," "look at the freakin website you're on!" You have arrived at Amazon, not pimpmyride. com. At Amazon, you're "modding" (as the cool kids call it) your car. What did you expect? I'm very pleased with this product; it's a well-made, low-cost detailing kit for my Jeep Wrangler. Take a look at Lee Press On Nails for an example. You get the idea for a fraction of the cost, and when you get a better job or your kids are no longer in braces, you can upgrade to the real thing. br>br>Now, let's talk about the application. It claims that you don't need any tools to use this product, but that is a lie. Be prepared to call your doctor for a cortisone shot and arthritis cream if you don't have a pair of fine point tweezers. I've been studying that stuff for quite some time now. Insert those needle point tweezers into the side of that dreadful 3M tape, and you're good to go. It's that simple. br>br>Overall, I think you'll enjoy it if you don't expect anything more than what you're paying for. Lee Press On Body Lift Kits would be great to see on here. Now I'm off to copy and paste this into all of the other sticky mods I've recently installed. Peace!.
My expectations for Hooke Road's cowl body armor were exceeded.
1: The item is identical to what is shown in the pictures. It's made of black plastic with a diamond plate finish on the outside. Jeeps are already tough, and this only adds to their intimidating appearance.
2: It was simple to set up. To do a pre-test, open the box and place them on the cowls. If you run an install check, you'll notice that they're all the right size. Remove the tape from the roll, place it on the cowl, firmly press it in place, and take a step back to admire how nice it looks.
3: There's no need for any additional tape. I took advantage of the available options. installed tape, which, once pressed against the cowl, has held up to I- Without a hitch, I was able to travel at speeds of up to 80 mph on the Interstate, with gusts from trucks. I've given them multiple blasts with a 3000 psi pressure washer, and they haven't come loose yet.
4: There is no fade. The sun in Las Vegas is harsh on anything exposed to it, but these cowl guards are still as black as they were when they were first installed. There are no issues with UV at all. br>br>This is one of the best low-cost options I've come across. I've made a few modifications to my Jeep that have saved me a lot of money. In the end, they do what they're supposed to do and last a long time.
br>br>I am completely enamored with this product. It is a fantastic product that looks great on the Jeep and is well worth the money, but I do have one complaint. I've had these body armor plates for about three months and they're still in great shape. They haven't faded in the sun, which is also a plus. ONE OF THEM, ON THE OTHER HAND, STOOD UP AND FALLED One side of my jeep still has the body plate on, as you can see in the photos I've attached. It's in perfect condition; I wiped down my work surface and, of course, adhered the plate properly. And, may I add, the plate is firmly attached to the passenger side of the vehicle. However, the license plate on the drive/other side of my Jeep fell off one day and I no longer have it. As you can see from my giving pictures, I had correctly adhered the plate to my jeep because the glue strips are still stuck to my jeep, but the adhesion between the glue strips and your company's product failed. Please get back to me as soon as possible from the company. I'm sad and, to be honest, a little silly right now because I'm only driving around in my jeep with one body plate. I don't believe I should have to pay for a replacement plate when I adhered it properly and the glue strip was still attached to my Jeep. Is there any way I could get a new one sent to me? Or do you want a credit?.
This is an excellent product that performs admirably, is simple to install, and looks fantastic on the Jeep! Now, I'm sure the included 3M tape on the underside of the armor would work fine, but just to make sure they didn't blow off at highway speeds, I cleaned them with rubbing alcohol. removing any fingerprints or film from the Jeep's cowl panels, then securing them to the Jeep with more 3M automotive tape around the edges and in the middle. I know. Isn't it a bit much? They haven't moved an inch, though. I strongly advise you to leave about a 3/4" gap in the middle. Water and other moisture can drain under each cowl armor once it has been installed by placing tape strips between and at the ends (at the corners of the armor).
As a final point, I am 100% satisfied with this armor as well as the other Opar products I've purchased. In the future, I will undoubtedly purchase additional Opar products.
I think these are a great addition to my Jeep, especially when compared to other more expensive and similar-looking products. It would have been even easier to install if the backing from the double-sided tape had been included. The double-sided tape was easily removed. More 3M double-sided tape was added. Because the tape provided was only for the perimeter, I used double-sided tape. I'm not sure why a similar product would command a higher price.
I was driving down the highway the other day when I noticed something fly off my Jeep. When I got home, I noticed it was the cowl cover on the driver's side.
The only way to find out is to wait. Installation is simple, and the results are stunning. I bought these because one of my cowls had a small dent in it. They're made of plastic, but I already knew that because of the full Amazon description. I cleaned the perimeter with acetone. The 3M tape appears to be extremely strong. The only way to find out is to wait. Most of the time, I park in the shade or inside. We'll keep an eye on them to see if they fade or become loose. in the long run.
br>br> I can't say I'm disappointed for the price. It appears to be fantastic. It gives the Jeep a bit of a rugged look.
2. It's made of a plastic with a diamond-like texture. The texture of the surface is identical to that of the stock tire fender.
3. The tape is a 3M clay-based mounting tape. as if it were tape around the edges
4. I would strongly advise purchasing additional mounting tape from Home Depot or Lowes and covering the inside of the plastic for added security. These mounting tapes can be easily removed without causing any damage to the paint.
