I purchased mine in the summer of 2018 and noticed that it had faded significantly by July of this year. I used a cleaner wax and then a UV wax to restore it; it looks great now, but I'm not sure how long it will last. It looks great and did everything I asked of it, but it appears that it will require some upkeep to keep it looking good. Alternatively, you can paint it before installing it with a high-quality paint.

Yes, and until it breaks, it looks fantastic. After about 3 months, mine finally gave up the ghost.

Before and after photos are shown. It's also a breeze to set up! Before installing the grill, I gave it a thorough cleaning with a damp cloth. I also added two extra strips of 3M tape to the top side for added support, but it snaps right into place otherwise. It will take time to see how long it lasts, especially since I wash my car once a week. So, in terms of longevity, we'll see if it's really worth the money. But, for the time being, I am completely enamored with it.

UPDATED! 8/20/19br>I bought a can of Rust-Oleum Peel Coat Blasted Metal Spray paint in the color Tungsten ($8 at Walmart and MUCH better than Plasti-Dry) and a can of Rust-Oleum Peel Coat Blasted Metal Spray paint in the color Tungsten ($8 at Walmart and MUCH better than Plasti-Dry). The grille looked like a $500 custom job when I first used the dip (which started peeling off after only a week). GORGEOUS. I've added a new photo (with shabby lighting, but it still looks great) to demonstrate the power of an $8 can of paint! This grille is AMAZING and I HIGHLY recommend it. br>br>We got married last week, and despite my reservations, I'm very happy with it! It was incredibly simple to put together. I haven't had to take it off yet, and I don't plan on doing so anytime soon, so I can't say whether it will scratch or how long it will last. As it stands now, it's perfect; we added "EXPLORER" metal emblems from Amazon, and our XLT now looks more like a Sport, which was my goal! Don't think twice about it; just buy it! Also, the seller was extremely communicative and assured me that they stand behind their product and that we should contact them if we have any issues. Thank you so much for giving my Explorer a great upgrade. I'm head over heels for you!.
Edit: My grill is now fading and peeling all over, so I have to make this change to my post as well. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get in touch with the seller. For a few months, it was great. I've also downgraded from a 5 to a 3 star rating. It appears to be satisfactory. br>br> It was only today that I got around to installing it. Only the top part has adhesive, and I probably should have added more, but we'll see how it turns out. It was simple to put on. With the "Explorer" letters I purchased, it looks fantastic.
At the bottom of the page, you can make a change to the original review. Everything was fine until the gloss wore off and the staining began. It had only been out in the rain and sun for about two months. I'd seriously consider another brandbr>br>Looks great super glossy and pretty decent plastic fits really well for the most part a little big around the logo but not really noticeable unless you put your face in it definitely worth it if you don't want to paint your grill or pay for OEM replacement definitely worth it if you don't want to paint your grill or pay for OEM replacement.
At first glance, this grille overlay looks great and is simple to install. That is, until you wash it or leave it in the sun for a while, at which point the gloss fades and the paint turns flat black. I used to be able to restore it with wax, but that no longer works. Instead of an overlay, it would be better to get a complete grille insert.
It's simple to apply, it looks great, and it's lasted through numerous car washes.
This is great because it's simple to put together, snaps on with no effort, and has 3M tape already applied. Others have already endorsed it. Sadly. br>br> After about three months, I'll have to update this. It's turned a very dark shade of black. There isn't any clearcoat on the car. I was underwhelmed by the low quality. The rating has been reduced from five to three stars.
Stunning accessory with a modern feel. It adds the perfect gloss black I was looking for while still allowing the two chrome pieces to shine through. It went on my 2015 Explorer XLT without a hitch and appears to be nice and tight. I would strongly suggest it.
