There is no doubt that this is a little thinner and flimsier material than the one that was there prior. The system was designed to fit a few GM vehicles that are all set up the same way. To take out and replace four bolts, remove them and put them I think this step will do the trick for this job because it is so simple. Looking forward to finding out how long it will last. There was a factory one for eight years, from 2008 to.
In a matter of minutes, it was in place. An inexpensive and simple solution for preventing slush, ice and debris from getting into the front of the engine. The elastomers of this shield and potentially compromised after 6 to 8 years if the vehicle goes off road or on gravel roads.
A little bit of difficulty had to be overcome in order to install this item. It's actually a relatively easy task to swap out this part. As a result of packaging, the parts and packaging are much thinned out than the original parts and more likely to warp. As I installed it, I noticed that it was difficult because I had to flatten and stretch to line up the holes to make sure the bolts would fit. In any case, we were very happy with its performance once installed.
However, even though this was an exact fit, the thickness of the plastic material is HALF of GM's OEM part. You can't expect the product to deflect dust and protect the underside of your car as much as It costs half what GM does and is half as good. Hope you have a good day!.
Is a cheap material that fits and functions, but is not as durable as factory-made. There were issues with the mold line trim, and the part was warped, but it was straightened by bolting it on the vehicle. A very thin stock compared to others.
As for the splash shield, I installed it and am assuming it will work just fine, but it was quite flimsy. Unlike the OEM version, the OEM version was thick, rigid, and durable. Versions of this product came in a box that needed to be rolled virtually into a circle before they could be used. The item installed successfully, but the level of protection is not as high as the original. If submerged in water, mud, or snow, it will be fine, but it's unlikely that it would survive being crushed by a rock or.
In this piece of plastic are molded portions that hold water and debris away from important electronic components I found this to be an excellent price, the shipping was quick, and I didn't need to make any modifications to my truck to install it.
A little bend from shipping, but got out of it by sitting in the sun for a few days.
