zipper on the side door! This car cover has only been in my possession for a short time, but it is exactly what I was looking for. People have complained that the ultra-thin ones, which are essentially a tarp, have ruined their paint. I wanted one that was thicker (it claimed 6 layers) and had a cotton lining on the inside. This is the 3rdone I ordered, and the 3rdone is the charm. It also needed to have straps to keep it from blowing away in the wind, as well as a driver's side door zipper, because I ALWAYS forget stuff inside. It fulfilled all of my requirements and is extremely comfortable to wear. I own a 2019 Hyundai Veloster as a point of comparison. No, it won't stop massive hail, but I wanted something that would help with some weather protection and provide some protection. br>br>The first one claimed to have so many layers, but it was so ridiculously thin that there was no way it wouldn't rip on day one, as others claimed. The first reaction was a huge letdown. br>br>The entire thing has no "weight" to it; in fact, for a supposed heavy-duty outdoor car cover, it felt extremely light. Also, "where are the six layers?" was my first question. " I can't say they aren't there, but each layer must be thinner than a sheet of paper, because everything is so thin. " We held it up to the light and counted how many fingers were held up behind it (I know, uv light is different, meaning non-visible light). Although UV light can pass through and UV light is blocked, the film is still thin and non-transparent. UV (ultraviolet) light is allowed to pass through. In addition, the zipper is metal, and there is approximately an 1. If flipped the right way, the 5" flap should protect the car from any potential damage caused by the metal zipper directly against the car. Because the flap is on the inside, there's no way of knowing if it's flipped correctly or if it'll stay that way. br>br>I like the color because it's a dull silver, which is perfect because I don't want to be blinded by the sun. I like the reflective material on the front and mirrors (would be nice if it was also on the back, because you can park your car in either direction). The reflectors had to face out, so we had to back our car in. It was simple to put together, and the front and back buckled nicely (there is no buckle in the middle, only a loop on each side). I used to have one of these and eventually gave it to the person who bought my SUV from me. Summers in Alaska are hot and humid, and winters are cold. My vehicles have to deal with a lot of adversity. These covers appeal to me for a variety of reasons, but my two favorites are:
1. Even in 40 mph winds, the elastic and straps keep the cover secure. I no longer have to search the woods for my car cover, as I did with the cheap thin covers.
2. The zipper that allows access to the driver's side of the vehicle without having to remove the cover is extremely convenient. br>br>Also, the cover's interior is soft, so it doesn't scratch the paint job when the wind blows. br>br>In addition. The bright orange marking tapes sewed into the headlight and mirror areas allow for simple one-handed operation. On the vehicle, people are placed. The cover's fit is remarkable - WHEN MEASUREMENTS ARE MADE PRIOR TO ORDERING. br>br>Another point to consider is that It is a reasonable price. br>br>One thing to keep in mind: MEASURE THE SIZE OF YOUR VEHICLE. Next steps: br>After 11 months, this cover began to tear in several places, and it is now only used on the car until I can locate and purchase a replacement. I tried sewing/stitching the tears, but one or two would appear every time I stitched one. The fabric had simply become extremely brittle. I have over ten tears that are 3 inches in length or longer, and they are only getting bigger. As I pulled the cover over the car, tears welled up in my eyes. Nothing has changed since I first received the cover, but I'm guessing the material isn't meant to last, so I'm downgrading this rating to one star because I can get disposable car covers for less than $70! br>br>I purchased this 9 months ago. Since then, the front corners (where the strap is located near the front tires) have been tearing. I usually keep the cover on the car or roll it up and put it away. I really like this product; however, I wish the straps and corners were reinforced. It's disappointing to see this thing fall apart in less than a year. The front strap's clip has also broken. It's too late to go back. br>br> As a replacement, I will look for another manufacturer.
