There was no room in the car for camping gear because there were 3 adults, 2 toddlers, and 2 pit bulls. The fact that this bag fit so many things astounds me! I thought I would fit most of the things in it, but I was blown away by its capacity! A 6-foot folding table, five chairs, two queen size mattresses, a tripod cooker, two lamps, a first aid kit, a 9-foot long tent and a 9-foot tall tent stand were fit for the trip An elaborate tent and tarp measuring 10 x 16 feet, a queen-sized comforter, two twin blankets, and three king-size beds You've got the right size I had room for a lot of stuff and there was still room for more! Earlier, I prepacked it on the floor to test how it would fit before leaving. My husband grabbed items and handed them to me as I packed the SUV the morning we were to leave, so I climbed on the SUV roof and packed it. I think it took about wasn't even required to use the extra straps he brought since he were able to ratchet strap the bag through the car with the provided straps. Although the bag was travelling at 85 mph, it did not move. I could not be happier with the quality of this product.
It was the first time I used this when I was in a car with three others. It took about four minutes to get to the campsite It was a five-hour drive out. We had no problems on the way out. We had only one problem, which was that there was a lot of wind coming through the windows, so we had to adjust the ratchet straps a bit. A 70 mph windspeed did not move the bag, however. There was no doubt that it was waterproof and weather proof, since we drove through Nevertheless, when we packed up to return home 4 days later, one of the roof bag straps came loose as we were in the middle of packing up. It is essential that this strap hold down the bag, so that the ratchet straps will go through it and be held down. It was a very long trip back, so we tied the ratchet strap to the other strap in the back, and hoped for the best as we started the long trip with only three places to hold the bag. I would say the pros are as follows It is waterproof and did not move, has lots of room, and comes with a mat and Among the cons are There are some bad instructions provided that didn't seem to make much sense, the wind can get through windows as the ratchet straps make the ride quiet, and the horse is not as strong as I expected as that strap ripped off just as we tightened it up. Maybe mine was just defective with that one strap but it has potential to be a good product. Even though I was nervous about another one ripping me off in the middle of the drive, everything else held up really well. This item is not fully held down or it rips very easily, so I don't feel safe putting it on.
I got extra storage when I needed it the most. We have acquired so many things that we have decided to purchase a Mockins Waterproof Cargo Roof Bag Set before leaving Texas. A mat was included to protect the finish on my van, which I appreciated. During our travels with the Mockins Cargo Bag atop our vehicle, we covered 655 miles. The Oklahoma weather was wet with three storms. We arrived at our destination with our luggage and other items safely and securely locked up. There were no damages or water in the room. Keeping everything dry and safe was made possible by the Cargo Bag. I did not have rails on the top of my van, but installation was simple. The bag seems to have a good construction and a very durable surface. Some instructions or suggestions on how to install the bag would have been nice, but installation is straight forward it appears to be well built and quite durable. This was a purchase that I expected to use over and over again, and I believe the Cargo Bag will be around for a long time. I would recommend it to anyone looking for extra storage when.
This bag is awesome. The materials used in this product are sturdy and well-made. As the zipper was closed on mine in the front, there was water inside. The window opened just an inch or two, but when the snow and rain hit, a boot had fallen from the plastic bag and a couple of small boxes were soaked. You can close the zipper on the side with a wire and keep it shut with the wire. There was even a velcro flap over the zipper, yet it opened due to the force of the wind. Nevertheless, I believe it could be fixed fairly easily. These straps are sturdy and nice to hold things in place. Since I have a luggage rack, I did not use the ratcheting straps. It is a nice touch and works very well that the anti slip protection pad is included. Despite all their efforts, the pack did not budge. The bungee net also did not seem to be necessary, so I opted not to use it. The book is definitely worth buying It won't be necessary for me to do so.
The car was used for over 600 miles, and we had to drive through some rain for two hours. The contents stayed dry, and the vehicle was towing at 70 miles per hour with hardly any wind noise. We connected two black straps together to create one long enough to fit through the car window. This allows you to make two sets that attach to a cargo carrier since there are four black straps. The carrier will not shift side to side due to these straps. For extra security, there are two orange turnbuckle straps. Using the carrier mat that comes with it. If the straps contact the car's exterior to prevent scuffing, it is recommended to use rubber pads in those locations. pieces of kitchen shelf liner and cut them into small pieces to protect the interior of the Make sure the non-expiring date is at the top The car has a zippered side that faces the front. We stopped at a gas station before the water wicked into the car through the straps during a drizzle. In case you are stopping in the rain, you may like to use a bath towel on the seat or a hand towel wrapped around the straps inside the car. As shown in the photos, it is best to allow the straps to go through the rear door. It was a sunny day when we drove.
There was no movement of the carrier, and all contents remained There was no damage to the I am very pleased with the overall outcome.
This is a huge bag that was large enough to fit in the trunk. The directions are missing (which is why I rated it only four stars instead of five). There were many straps that came with it. Straps are basically threaded through four corners of the bag (threading through four loops) and are secured to the roof bars with Velcro. As an extra precaution, we added a third strap near the middle, which is secured by It never moved at all when I drove four hours in the rain and wind. The extra strap material had been tied off to prevent it from rattling. The weather at the destination was nice and dry. Despite securing the straps in this bag, you cannot get into it once you have done so. For my purposes, this is not a major problem. To fill it, I needed a bench to reach the roof. We folded away everything and placed it in the trunk for our If you need a bag that is dry, well made, and fairly cheap to bring all the stuff with you when you have guests, this is the one to get.
