It's supposed to be such, however after using it for the first time, a lot of the coating began to peel The integrity could be compromised in that way.
You could buy a really small key lock and lock it by looping the head of the key into the zipper 'handles'. There is one zipper with two zipper "handles." We had to unload it at a hotel midway through our road trip, and I kind of wish we had done that. I would have saved a lot of time if I had done this.
My recommendation would be to stay away from So I would check out the interior of the car to make sure it is as secure as it can be to your rooftop.
Unfortunately, I do not have any advice for you on this matter.

If you don't want the straps to flap in the wind, roll up the excess straps and tape them to the cinched portion of the straps when you are done loading. It would be possible for that to damage things. In terms of my complaints, the only ones I have are 1) that the instruction sheet was poorly written, and 2) that I was confused by how to attach 2) The cargo bag and its carrying case are similar to snow chains and their carrying cases. It can't be put back in once it's been removed. No matter how well the straps are taped down, you may hear some noises from them. Double-check your work You should check that your loads are still secure every time you stop, despite the fact that you should recheck them every time. We didn't experience any rain on our trip, so I don't know how water-resistant the jacket is. Even constant gusts of wind reaching over 50 miles per hour managed to keep it going.
As a whole, I am satisfied with this bag's performance on a trip that took me across the country by air for over 1000 miles. instructions included in the kit are woefully inadequate to the point of being useless, if you do not have It's not too bad to turn it on and off once you've watched some videos on it and read up on it online. Once you know what it is, taking it on and off is not that difficult. You might find it much easier if you have a rack and rails. If you need to cinch it down so that it doesn't flap in the wind, bring some extra straps with you It is not dangerous, but it is distracting and can hide the sounds *Be sure to check your list!
Our bags got lost after a half-hour or so at 70 mph due to the fact that we forgot to zip them. Of course, the bag has nothing to do with it. You should always zip it, pat the skirt down, Velcro the flap, and check both straps through the body and all four clips before every trip. After clipping the clips, wrap the extra around and tuck it in to prevent it from making noise Quite a few miles have passed you by. Putting heavy things up there is not a good idea Camping gear, sleeping bags, and even suitcases that don't have too much stuff are perfect for this. That is why it is going to be very popular with you. Those who have cinder blocks or other heavy items should save trunk space for them.
This is currently being used on a trip that I'm on right now. As I was driving from Illinois to this panhandle, it pours light rain for a few hours. I knew I was going to have to pull over and fix it.
Was surprised when I got to the hotel to find out that my clothes were soaked. My gosh, what a day. Despite the rain, they were not soaked. Water flying off the thing at 85mph, of course what else could you expect? The zipper seemed to be the obvious entry point. You might want to consider putting suitcases in large garbage bags.
when this bag arrived that I would be pleased with it. However, it didn't live up to my expectations. It's easier to install with the quick release straps than the older Fox brand one I had, and I think it has a more aerodynamic shape so I will be able to get better gas mileage with it. Those are pretty much the only positives. There is no weatherproofing on this bag. Repetition there is no weatherproofing on this bag. The main reason for this seems to be that the bag does not have a tapped zipper, so any rain, be it a drizzle or a downpour, is going to get through this bag and wet your belongings inside. Water can enter the vehicle through the zipper because of an untapped zipper. There is a weather strip over the zipper, but it flips up once the vehicle reaches highway speeds, exposing the untapped zipper.
OK, in fairness, the bag is big, I was able to fit five suitcases and three folding beach chairs in it without any I would be ok if you could be sure that the weather would be favorable throughout the entire trip. In the rain, you should not take any chances.
No matter the amount of clothes and two tents we had for a weekend of camping, it was large enough to let us pack it all in While on the way, there was a little bit of rain, maybe 15 to 20 minutes. During the visit, there was "light" Florida rain for 20 minutes. Despite its size, it was easy to strap on to the roof and didn't move at all as we drove. Our next trip to the campground will be enhanced by its presence.
Extra ties can be purchased if you desire them Adding a ratcheting strap will protect the down. There's just something about this bag that I love. This bag has been strapped to the back of my Hyundai Elantra during my move from Washington, DC to Florida. You can install it easily As I don't have a roof rack, the bag goes on the roof and the straps go through the loops and around the bag. In addition to the ratchet strap, I put an extra layer of protection over the bag. Water resistance held up well in heavy rainfall (no puddles were found inside the bag. It is just a little condensation or "sweating"). Velcro around the bag is excellent because the zippers didn't move much and the zippers didn't move much.
Even though it comes with a carrying case, I didn't realize it had one! The amount of space it would take up in my closet in my apartment with limited storage was a huge concern for me. As a result, I'm pretty happy that it all should fit back into (hopefully) a cube shape again. It seems that the material and quality are really good so far! I was able to follow the instructions pretty clearly since there was a lot of strapping. It works out of the box with no problems at all! In addition, I knew it would be bigger, but I didn't expect it to be as big as it is! I will be taking a mini vacation with my extended family next month for a long weekend. We have 5 kids and 2 adults, so we will need as much room as possible. Hope I can fit everything in this bad boy and I also hope it stays dry if it rains. The fabric and straps are not likely to be torn by the wind from driving. A later update will be made.
felt very durable, even though we didn't have any rain while we were there so I can't really assess its water resistance, but the thickness and feel of the material made me think water would get in only if it was not completely enclosed. Upon beginning our trip, I thought the installation would be easy however, the straps inside the car started to slip after we drove about 10 miles. A few minutes later, our friends behind us called us to tell us our bag was dancing around on the roof. In order to prevent slipping, the straps need to be fed through the buckle in the correct order. By tying knots and wrapping the remaining straps around it, we were able to rig it. Since it has this issue, I do not recommend using it unless you have a rooftop rack to mount it.
