The one I bought for my 2014 Honda CRV is working well I'm not sure how yours works There may be variations depending on the make and model. have used it regularly to carry my surfboard, which is 10 feet. I have been very pleased with the quality.

The value was good, but some parts didn't fit because the product is made in China

I went to Home Depot to buy new washers, which was no big deal. screw could not be fitted in the original because it was too tight or small. Other than that, a decent product. Additionally, I had to watch YouTube videos for the instructions since they were so minimal.

In the box there are three caps for the double screw hole side and only one for the adjustable side, so we cannot even install it and there appears to be no way to contact the seller so this is useless at the moment and we have a trip coming up in which this would have been useful. It was disappointing.
