Questions & Answers

Is this going to fit a 2020 Ford F-150 with a six-cylinder engine? 5' bed?

Yes.

What country does this product come from?

It does not state that they are made in the United States, and contrary to what someone else stated, it does not state that they are made in the United States anywhere on the product, the business card, or the Amazon website. br>br>It's "veteran supported" and "owned by the United States of America," but that's about it. Look, I'm not trying to bash this company; it appears that they make decent products and provide good customer service, and after all, it's an American company. In a competitive market, a home-based business tries to make money. However, it is not manufactured in the United States of America. And "veteran supported" simply means that someone who has served in the military works for the company. Again, I'm not criticizing them; however, the wording on the card is deceptive, slanting the card in their favor. I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing, but I'm just trying to be clear. br>br>To see if there was a difference, I purchased seven different brackets and cleats from the best companies I could find on Amazon. And as far as I can tell, they are 100% identical, with the Ronin brackets having a thinner spray and having full security torx bits. The thinner spray coating may not be a bad thing; this is just a thought. Everything else is 100% identical apart from that. And believe me, I've spent about four hours checking them out with a camera, the Internet, a flashlight, a scale, and a level. Even though this was purchased on Amazon, I appreciate Ronin providing their business information so that I can contact them. a rarity! They also have a large index of their own. sized card with color illustrations and installation instructions They also include TWO bits and four extra screws. As a result, they clearly outperform the competition in this area. I can't comment on the screw quality, but the plates appear to be the same as everyone else's.

Are the stainless steel screws included in the updated version?

My screw was coated, but I'm not sure what kind of coating it was. The screws are intended for use with the Ford aluminum bed.

Will these fit in a Raptor with a drop-inn bedliner made of plastic?

Yes, they'll work - However, in order to complete the installation of the tie down brackets, you will need to cut holes in the liner.

UPDATE: January 24, 2019: Improved product and above-average customer service
4/5

Replacement plates and screws have been in place for nearly two months. There is no visible rust or fading at this time. The replacement parts are unquestionably superior to the original set. I'll post a photo of the replacements after three months if I remember. I'm still irritated by the replacement process and the cost of expensive screws that I didn't use. br>br>UPDATE 29 DECEMBER 2018: After the previous update, I noticed a comment claiming that Ronin Factory had improved the product. After contacting them, I received a replacement set within a few days. I installed the new set, and no rust has appeared in three weeks. If the screws or plates start to rust again, I'll post an update. I'm glad they're working better now, but I still spent a lot of money on stainless A2 hardware that I can't return. br>br>UPDATE 8 DECEMBER 2018: Images of rusted screws have been added. All brackets from a three-month exposure are represented in this image. I also included a photo of the backs. The coating appears to be tough, but it clearly does not resist rust, necessitating a $30 investment in stainless screws (including nylock nuts and nylon and SS washers). Now I'll have to repaint and fix the rust. I'm extremely disappointed. If I had the opportunity, I would return. I strongly discourage you from doing so. The OEM ones appear to be much more resistant to rust. I live near the coast in Southwest Florida. br>br>If you want to make yours tamper resistant, the backs can be accessed (from underneath) with a little straining. It will be nearly impossible to remove from the bedside due to a M6 nylock nut on the back. br>br>UPDATE November 10, 2018: I do not recommend this product, and I will now have to spend a lot of money to replace the screws that were not properly coated. So much for the Tamper Resistant screws being purchased. I'm seeing rust through the "powder coating" as of today. I haven't used the brackets yet. Very let down. br>br>UPDATE 1 NOVEMBER 2018: Almost all of the screws have started to rust as of today. I saw a friend's truck from 2015 with factory-installed brackets and screws that showed no signs of rust. I'm extremely disappointed. Now I have to spend more money and time to replace the junk screws that were installed without the anti-corrosion coating. tamper. Original Review: br>br>Original Review: br>br>Original Review: br>br>O br>I like the brackets a lot. There hasn't been any rust yet due to the tough coating. The 5th of September, 2018, was the date of installation. The screws, on the other hand, began to rust from the first day. 1 (2-year) was replaced. Because of rust, I had to replace three of the brackets about a week after I installed them.

There were some screw issues, but once they were resolved, the plates worked perfectly in my 2018 Ford F-150
4/5

150 Brackets were delivered on time. When I went to install it according to the instructions (thank you for the detailed instructions that came with the product as well as the instructions that were emailed to me! It was extremely beneficial. ), but I couldn't get any of the tapping screws to work. They would not screw in despite following the instructions to the letter. I'm not sure where the problem happened to be. I had a Line-X liner installed prior to the installation of these brackets, so the factory holes were still accessible, or there was an issue with the truck's manufacture (which I doubt). The holes had to be tapped first, and then the brackets could be installed. Unfortunately, it resulted in a minor cost increase due to the need to purchase the tap, as well as a longer time frame due to the additional work required. Other reviewers have mentioned that the screws were a problem, so I believe that was the case. Overall, the brackets did a good job of finishing the cleat installation once they were installed. It's a good product, but it appears that at least some of the screws that come with the kit have issues. Screws are a one-star item.

A Less Expensive Option for the Job My truck is a 2018 Ford F150
5/5

The guy behind the counter asked if I had the anchors when I bought the cleats. The cleats were supposed to be built into the anchors, right? No go. They were paid separately, at a rate of $50 per anchor. The four metal squares are out of my price range at $200 and up. I went to Amazon and looked at the anchors Ronin had to offer. br>The items arrived quickly, were well-packaged, and I immediately began watching the instructional video. You should probably have an impact drill, which I didn't have at the time. Even with a decent amount of lubricant on the screw to reduce friction (very important) and a steady hand, I was able to get it to work; however, if you already have a bed liner in the truck and need to install these afterward, you may have some difficulty. There is a square cut to accommodate the area, but it may not line up nicely with the holes to allow you to drill straight, which is important because these are self-tapping screws. To allow for a straight line, I used a grill bit to shape out a portion of the area. br>Now, back to the product - This is the genuine article. Strong and solid. The best part is that they include two bits as well as a few spare screws. Thank goodness, too, because I had a couple of acres of tangled threads that wouldn't work. The additional screws saved my life. Make sure the larger portion of the hole is on the bottom and the narrow portion is on the top when installing. They perfectly accommodated the FORD anchors, and my truck bed is now fully operational. br>Thanks to Ronin for providing a less expensive option; however, I believe that $200 plus installation from the dealer is a bit excessive and a rip-off. br>Buy with confidence, follow the instructions, lubricate the screw to reduce friction, line things up, and pre-set your holes before securing the plate.

The bit and screws that came with it were junk / read the full review for an update
3/5

The bracket itself is fine, but the torx bit and screws that came with it were a complete waste of money. I've already contacted Ronin, what a waste of time; make sure you have extra screws and bits on hand because they'll break off and be difficult to remove once that happens. br>br>update: br>br>update: br>br>update: Both Amazon and Ronin have contacted me, and it appears that I received a defective batch of screws. The problem has been brought to Ronin's attention, and they claim that the new stock is far superior. They responded quickly and acknowledged that there was a problem. That, in my opinion, says a lot about the organization and its employees.
