The bolts are inserted in the fender with a set screw and the nuts are bolted to the fender. The allen wrench becomes useless as soon as it feels resistance. When you crack the plastic around the insert, it looks terrible. I would imagine that the quality of the plastic would have been better for $12 per item. Each mounting kit received an extra set, and I am glad I ordered them.

It is very easy for the plastics to crack in cold weather. Do not install in cold weather. A great product a reasonable price is the only thing I'm looking for.
