I found the installation to be easy and the product to be sturdy. It does fit pre-2015 Tacomas (installation from 2012 worked perfectly). Although the instructions are awful, it really only takes 3 bolts to attach the sides and 2 bolts to attach My eyes were opened in two seconds after putting it on different sides to see which way it had to go, and it took me 15 minutes to complete the bolting. The box did not move no matter how hard I shook it. If heavy things are tied to the rack or put on the rack, I would be comfortable doing that.
This BackRack is a perfect fit for my existing one. I don't need to drill a hole because the side rails on my 2020 Toyota Tacoma are compatible.
I installed it in a short time and it was It was only a hiccup that the square nuts sat too far back in the channel for the bolts to fit. To fix this issue, fold up a piece of paper and use it to push the nuts outwards toward the center when you put the mattress on. The bolts are easier to thread on once you have done so. Overall, this was a good product and was easy to install.
