I was looking through the many racks to find one that matched one I had bought over a decade ago when I came across this one. I was almost ready to go out and buy two new fold-over chairs that matched. downs, but this appeared to be a reasonable substitute. I ordered it because it was returnable, despite the lack of reviews, and WOW - it was fantastic. It's almost an exact match, and it's of excellent quality and price; it came with the cam straps I needed, and it'll be a great addition to help me load and unload my two kayaks faster. With these, you can't go wrong; the quality is excellent, and the design is straightforward.
There isn't a single thing about these that I don't like. My roof rack bars are too far apart and have become stuck. >.
This works fine, but keep in mind that you should tighten all of the bolts on this rack, not just the ones that allow you to adjust it to your rooftop. I didn't, and the other bolts on the rack loosened during the first long drive. br>br>In addition, the bolts corroded within a month of being on my vehicle.
It was simple to put together, but the durability is debatable. To support the four small nuts that hold the rack in place, I recommend investing in heavy-duty ratchets.
It's okay, but after the second use, the foam starts to tear.
I recently received my rooftop kayak holders, and one of the wingnuts did not include a nut, as shown in the attached photo. br>br> It's a real bummer because I can't use it without the wing nut.
When mounted on a circular bar, I can't seem to get the wing nuts tight enough for perfect stabilization, but this hasn't been an issue when driving up to 55 mph.
