The system is installed on my 2019 4Runner, but I decided it would be worth a try despite the negative reviews. It took me less than a minute to assemble this thing. You've done a great job! There are no holes in it, and it's substantial. Despite being made of plastic, it feels extremely sturdy.
It appears to be Installs quickly and easily. The information you were looking for was exactly what I was looking for (you were looking for). There is a space between the metal extension and the sides and back of the cargo basket which appears to be a defect. There is no point in putting any weight in the gap directly. As an aside, if you have factory installed roof mounts, please be aware that they probably aren't far enough apart to provide you with the most perfect support. But it fit almost perfectly onto my Toyota RAV4. As an alternative to getting a one with a logo, I will buy one with a sticker that fits my style to put on the front. Feel free to look at some pictures of the situation attached to this email to help you. Keeping it on your daily driver will result in a lot of wind noise, which is the most negative aspect of this product. IMPORTANT NOTE Make sure you position the clips for the wind deflector in the correct direction and on the right side. This is not stated in the instruction booklet, so if you start screwing in, you will have to take the whole thing apart to repair complete that task, keep in mind that you want the clip side with holes to be on the backside so the nut can hold in place while you tighten the wind deflector.
Since the cross bars have not arrived yet, I have nothing but a useless basket. Tomorrow, I need to buy the basket. There is still a week to go before you get your order. There has been several weeks now that I have been using the roof rack. If you decide to use crossbars, it's well worth the cost. The material is super sturdy and it's well worth it. I just wish they had been honest about the requirement for crossbars.
This product is easy to install and is of good quality.
For your information Although I didn't realize it would require crossbars at the time we purchased it, I purchased it anyway. That's right! We are so happy it's a lot bigger than we had anticipated, making our move out of state with the last dregs of our belongings a lot There was a large 2' x 4' box, two standard coolers, and some other smaller boxes and bags up there, along with a 42" flat-screen TV I was pleasantly surprised. Easy to set up and ultra durable, the roof rack is perfect for a wide variety of vehicles. During the racking assembly, I had two complaints one of the snap-in brackets did not work as it should, and the other bracket failed to snap in securely. The screws are inserted in the holes. screw holes on the plates were slightly off, but not so badly that they could not be made to sink properly, but the screws could still be made to sink adequately if some finagling were done. However, only the bottom screw was able to go into the last plate I tried to fit, because there was no way to fit the top screw properly because the hole was so off. Additionally, the clamps that hold the rack to the cross bars were incredibly difficult to affix, because I had to handle the tiny washer and the clamp while screwing on the knobs at the same time. With a lot of swearing and rearranging of the ladder we were using to get up there, we eventually managed to get it on. Although this puppy did exceptional on our 9-hour drive to our new home, I will say I am very impressed with him. I would give this product five stars for quality and versatility. I would have given it a 1 star if it had been easier to install and there had been better screw holes. This would certainly be a purchase we would make.
They also tell you not to space your cross members too far apart. If there are members more than 15 inches apart, then for 64" I need a minimum of four cross members You are all members now! I was quite disappointed to see how cheap the metal is on the roof rack! It's pretty hard to break a flimsy thing like this, so I'm hoping to put a piece of plywood under the spare tire!.
It should not be purchased. It was critical for me to pay attention to item reviews before purchasing, and I am not sure why more people aren't talking about the roof rack's HUGE defect. Despite trying different methods of putting this together, I eventually gave up after spending 3 hours attempting it. In addition, the screws do not fit in the holes, and the sidepanels You should save your money and buy something else instead.
Due to these car seats, we had a lot of cargo space left in our minivan after 4 kids, including 16-month-old twins in monster car seats, piled in. did not require much effort to put together, but it did take more than two hands to accomplish. While not particularly wordy, the directions are certainly adequate to perform the task. In order to get the fully assembled rack on top of the car without tearing anything, you need at least two people. A minivan is what we used the extension pieces for, so we did need them. I didn't have much problem with attaching the basket to the crossbars, but I did have to measure and plan ahead. It is important to note that your vehicle will need at least one type of crossbar. If you want to put the basket inside a bungee cargo net or rooftop bag, you can get that. As a result of the basket, we have been able to travel for an extended period of time and have plenty of luggage for longer trips than we would have been able to otherwise. We are pleased with the.
