I'm not sure what went wrong. When exiting a sloped driveway, however, clearance may be an issue.
One week later, I received mine.
With my Thule 4 bike carrier, I've mounted this to my RV's bumper. Despite the fact that I only transport two bicycles, I would not hesitate to load another two onto it. It's a substantial piece of work. This receiver will accept your carrier if it is of good quality.
I'd like to believe I would. It appears to be quite powerful. It's just a matter of finding the appropriate attachment.

Amazon, please assist me. My wife and I recently purchased our first travel trailer so that we can enjoy the outdoors with our two children (a four-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son). For years, I've been purchasing items from Amazon. This is the first time I've been so upset that I feel compelled to speak up. br>I purchased this number hitch for my cargo carrier to be mounted on the back of my camper to hold some outdoor toys and gear that isn't too heavy. We took our first long-distance trip this past weekend, arriving early and having a fantastic four-day adventure. When I returned home, I discovered that the hitch had broken at the point where the welds connect to the receiver. It was bad enough that I lost my cargo carrier, but losing the cargo bag and its contents was even worse. I misplaced a number of items I had ordered for camping from Amazon, including some items that were irreplaceable. br>br>Leveling blocksbr>7 gallon water jugbr>2 brand new beach chairsbr>My daughter's scooterbr>Worst of all, a tote stuffed with toys Inside the tote were some of my wife's barbies from when she was a kid, which my daughter now carries around with her. br>I'm not sure how this happened. br>I drove three hours back to the state campground, hoping to find our trail on the side of the road. No luck. On that particular day, I drove 9 hours (3 hours home, 3 hours back, and 3 hours home). I called all of the sheriff's departments in the counties we passed through to find out that it had been reported on the side of the road and that by the time they arrived to investigate, it had been taken. br>br>Amazon, please assist me. For everyday items, I rely on purchases from your site. It's a pain to lose all of those things and have to replace them. br>br>Matt br>br>Matt br>br>Matt.
My Thule T2 Pro bike rack and extension were broken and damaged as a result of this product. When I heard the rack hit the road, we were returning from camping and fortunately in a 35 mph zone. I came to a halt and looked behind the travel trailer to discover that the U bolts had snapped. Three children's bicycles were parked on the rack. br>At this time, I'm working with Amazon customer service to get my rack replaced.
affixed to the travel trailer's bumper Only two children's bicycles (7 total) were in my possession. When both u bolts snapped in half on a bike rack with this receiver, it was a 5 year old! The bikes collided with the road, forcing the car behind me to swerve and narrowly avoid colliding with the bikes and the guard rail. My children's bicycles and bicycle rack have been completely destroyed. The only saving grace is that no one was seriously injured as a result of this cheap knockoff product. I rarely write reviews on things I buy or return, but this is a major safety issue, so please follow my advice and DO NOT BUY THIS HITCH RECEIVER! br>br> I'm not looking for a penny from the company that sells this garbage or a replacement; all I want is for this to help another young family.
I inquired about mounting it at an angle of 180 degrees (with the bumper running lengthwise). "As long as you have a standard 4" square bumper," the first person to respond said. As a result, I made the purchase - Next-day delivery is available. Naturally, I get the standard "junk, don't buy" message a few hours after I place my order. Then the last one said that due to the bolt hole spacing, it WOULDN'T work as I intended. br>br>I got it today, and the mounting plate isn't square, so I couldn't mount it 180 degrees like I planned. It was my fault because I needed it this weekend to make a DIY camper grill mount. On this trip, I'm guessing I'll use the picnic table yet again. Perhaps after this trip, I'll have time to weld some metal to it so I can use it for its intended purpose on my next trip! Overall, it appears to be sturdy enough for light weight use, which is what I intended to do with it, but I doubt it would hold up to a heavy cargo tray or multiple bikes on a carrier. The metal is fairly thick, the welds appear to be of high quality, and the u bolts appear to be of good quality.
By the time I got it on the return window had passed, it was too big for the rv hitch. If the bar to which you're affixing this is too small, It's not going to happen. It will slide down or to the side, despite my best efforts to make it work with wood and other materials. If your hitch is the PERFECT size, it should work.
This item was used to secure a bicycle rack. It could support the weight of three bikes, but as we drove down the road, the trailer wobbled left and right, up and down, and the handle bars dented the back of the trailer. We'll use a strap next time to keep it from moving as much.
I mounted this on the bumper of our fifth wheel to transport our bike rack and bikes, and it worked flawlessly. We have three bikes, but I'm confident it could support a fourth if necessary. Simply ensure that the weight is supported by your bumper configuration - Do not rely solely on the bumper adapter's weight rating.
Because we don't have much storage space in our camper, we use it with a cargo rack to carry extra totes. I would purchase this item again.
