Questions & Answers
Is there any new information regarding the black option?
The rack bars need to be about 4" wide, so the width of your mounting brackets is critical. Because the rack isn't adjustable, you might have to reposition your carrier brackets. br>The rack bars are strong, and the weight and distribution of the cargo box should not be an issue. br>I have a Sport Rack Box, which works perfectly.
Is there any way to find out if anyone has received a response? I just put these racks on my new Jeep and one of the end caps fell off in the car wash.

This rack came in handy when I needed it the most. To have a functional roof rack system for my Jeep, I didn't need to purchase the separate Mopar roof rails and cross bars. This is a complete roof rack system that attaches to your black moldings with a single bolt. I was blown away by the quality of the rack, especially given the low price, and it was so simple to put together that I installed it right away and took it up to the mountains the next day. The rack appeared to be very stable and sturdy. This rack is one of my favorites!.
Against my better judgment, I followed the directions and installed the crossbars with the round end facing the back. At 40 miles per hour, this resulted in whistling. br>Because this has never sat well with me. I spun the bars around, round end front, like an airplane wing, and there was no more whistling from 0 to 90 mph. br>I believe your instructions are incorrect. br>I noticed on your how-to videos that the placement of the Brightlinges logo was incorrect as well, and that your installers made the same mistake during installation. The logo is then spun around to the driver's side in the final shot. br>Image included; low rating due to incorrect instructions; please correct me if I'm mistaken.
I took my time and put these together in about 30 minutes on my own. I've driven with them on the highway and haven't heard anything new. My advice is to take your time trimming the insert that prevents air from entering them, as this is most likely what is causing the whistling in other reviews. Blue thread locker on the installation bolts is also a good idea because it can be removed and keeps them sturdy. I'll update my review if anything changes with these, but they've far exceeded my expectations thus far.
I recently purchased a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude and needed to add racks for my surfboards and skis. I was a little worried about these racks because they were so much less expensive than Thule, Yakima, and other name-brand racks. But, based on the positive feedback, I decided to give them a shot. When I received the racks, I was pleasantly surprised by their quality. They're extremely durable. I was also taken aback by how simple they were to put together and how well they fit. Once installed, they appear to be OEM racks. These racks have exceeded my expectations, and I would buy them again in a heartbeat. However, I do have one suggestion: I strongly advise adhering the rack's end caps with some sort of adhesive. One of mine was a little loose, while the other three were very snug. I recommend using something like this to avoid losing an end cap:.
Arrived in good condition. The packaging was well-made, and the installation instructions were simple to follow. A few reviews mention noise or that the end caps aren't secure, but I found that if the end caps are facing the right way and the small tab on the bottom is pressed toward the center of the vehicle, the end caps are very secure. The only drawback was that the cross bars were only available in silver, and our car had all black trim and granite crystal emblems. wheels. I simply used factory-supplied paint to coat the bars. Prior to installation, mix granite crystal metallic paint. The bars aren't in the way of the panoramic sunroof, which is a huge plus. I would strongly suggest it.
I was back with my family of four and needed the extra space, so I decided to purchase a cargo roof rack for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. First and foremost, thank you BRIGHTLINES for making the ONLY bolt-on roof rack crossbars for the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude edition; I was afraid I'd have to pay for parts and assembly through Jeep Mopar in order to get a roof rack! br>The delivery was very quick, and it was much easier to put together than I anticipated, thanks to the clear instructions! I read the Amazon reviews about the noise the air makes as it passes through the crossbars, but I don't think it's as bad as some people made it out to be, and what can you expect when you add something to the top of your vehicle that wasn't there before? br>I attached a cargo roof rack to these crossbars quickly because I was going on three weekend camping trips back-to-back. I needed the extra space for gear that wouldn't fit inside, so I put the crossbars and my faith in my ability to assemble them to the test with a 7-foot trailer. With a fully loaded cargo rack on top of the crossbars, I drove an hour round trip to El Captain State Beach in California and it performed admirably. It made a 14-point difference on the second weekend. It did great on the hour round trip to Zion, Utah, and my gas mileage was about 22mpg, which isn't bad in a Jeep. On the third weekend, it had a 12-person turnout. I was very concerned about this known section of the driving route, but I was happy and impressed with the cross bars and cargo rack. hour round trip to the Eastern Sierras and it held up well, even through the desert winds with a fully loaded cargo rack, and I was very worried about this known section of the driving route, but I was happy and impressed with the cross bars and cargo rack. I believe the crossbars offer excellent value!.
These racks were purchased in August of this year. This review was written after four months of use with the racks. br>br>The racks are simple to set up and operate. On the highway, I travel with a 14-foot stand-up paddle board, which secures my load. br>br>THE ONLY CONTRARY FACTOR: These racks make a lot of noise. I installed everything according to the instructions, and I'm not sure how others aren't hearing it, but it whistles as soon as I exceed 30 mph, even with the racks empty. It's so loud going over 50 mph that I have to close the sun shade on my moonroof to block it out. I can't even open the vent on the moonroof because it's blocked. br>br>I like the racks because they're functional, but having to hear the whistling sound all of the time is extremely annoying; if there's any way to fix this, please let me know. If it wasn't so loud, it would easily be a 5-star product.
