I believe they're requesting mounting point dimensions. The lengths of the crossbars themselves aren't the issue. This information is also of interest to me.

The crossbars are a fantastic addition. Before placing my order, I read several reviews and, as a result, the installation instructions. It appeared to be a simple task. On my 2016 CRV, the crossbars took about 20 minutes to install. Just keep in mind that the length of the bars must be adjusted as part of the process. They can be easily adjusted by loosening the screws on one end and lengthening or shortening them. Because I was more cautious with the front one, it took a little longer to get it to the proper length. The back one was simpler because, based on my previous experience with the front one, I simply adjusted the length to fit. br>br>All you'll need is a Phillips screwdriver and a couple of stepstools (hint: one is better than the other). use two). I haven't put it to use yet, but I intend to do so with my two kayaks. It appears to be fantastic.
These roof cross bars were purchased to mount a roof basket on my 2014 Honda CRV with factory R,L roof racks. The crossbars arrived three days after I placed my order. The delivery was extremely quick. With stickers, the front, rear, and front side of both crossbars were labeled. Screw one side of the crossbar in after removing the rubber seals from the screw mounting holes on the rails (if possible, use a flat plastic screw driver to avoid scratching the paint). The screws they provide are correct; it appears that the bar is too short (a 1/2 inch), but there is an adjustment in the bar that allows you to move to the unattached side and pull until it fits in between the factory rails. It is even shorter in the back than it is in the front. The crossbars can be adjusted by about an inch each way. They are tight to pull out, but they will move when you pull on them. I had assumed they were too short and would have to be returned, but this was not the case. They are slim and stylish. They were perfectly capable of supporting a Reece roof basket. The price is well worth it, and the items appear to be of high quality.
Excellent rack with prompt delivery, but please keep in mind the following:
1. There is a front and back, as well as a left and right. Because the front rack is wider and the difference is visible, this should not be an issue. The bolt width is not uniform on the left and right sides; The rack can only be installed in one way, and despite the importance of this, there appears to be no markings on the rack. Standing on a step ladder, I could easily see whether the bolt holes on the opposite side were aligned or not by looking through the rack holes.
2. Before installing it on the right side, you can adjust the width by unscrewing the cover on the underside of the end piece, loosening the two screws on the rail, and widening it out to the correct width (then tightening again and reinstalling the cover). You don't have to be exact because the entire rack will flex down as you tighten the mounting bolts, but mine were set a centimeter too narrow. br>The factory bars were asking $250 at my dealer. As other reviewers have stated, the quality appears to be quite good, and assembly was simple and quick, requiring only a Phillips head driver.
