It will work with a 2016 Rogue S that has factory side rails.
They are ANGLED, just like the factory ones, which makes them look sleek, but it also means they aren't suitable for J bar kayak holders! Because those require a flat surface, an aftermarket Thule, Malone, or similar product is your best bet. Although the aftermarkets don't look nearly as nice as these, the angled/louvre style isn't ideal for mounting certain items, such as kayak and bike racks!
The more expensive adjustable kayak racks will provide the best fit. I wanted to save money, so I bought a four-rack package from Walmart.com, which is the less expensive version, but it's the most common type you'll see. The disadvantage is that they are not designed to fit the shape of the crossbars in this location, so I had to get creative. I bought some adhesive rubber sealant (similar to what you would use on the bottom of a garage door or window) from a hardware store and applied strip across the grips where the rack would be touching the crossbar. This not only protected the paint on the bars, but also provided excellent grip, allowing them to function flawlessly despite their mismatched shape. This is a low-cost, long-term solution that will help you save money.

These fit perfectly, were easy to put on, and look fantastic. They are a perfect match for the Rogue's look and feel. I, on the other hand, purchased them for the purpose of transporting kayaks. I tried using the "J" holders on these, but they didn't work out. Because these bars are slanted/tilted, other items attached to them, such as the "J" holders, are tilted as well and do not function properly. br>If you're looking for cross bars that can be used for multiple purposes, such as kayaks, bikes, or other sporting equipment, these are probably not the best option.
Nissan OEM roof rack cross bars are an exact match. To protect them from scratches during shipping, they were wrapped in bubble wrap and plastic. The included bolts made installation a breeze. The ranks are entirely metal and feel very durable, with the exception of a small plastic cover on the underside of each end. We just returned from a 1,300-mile round trip to see family for Christmas, and we had a 125-pound load in the overhead cargo bin. The cross bars didn't flex at all and held everything we had on top of the car with ease. You can't go wrong with these parts for less than half the price of Nissan-branded parts. br>br>For the record, I put these on my 2016 Nissan Rogue SV.
It is very simple to set up. These are made to be extremely precise in their fit. NOTE: Keep the front rack bar loose until the back one is in place, as directed. If you tighten the front bar first and then try to insert the back bar, you'll find it difficult to do so. Aside from the minor step of loosening the front bar, installation is extremely simple. A service provider should not be required to install them. Simply remove the plastic Nissan Rogue screws and replace them with genuine Nissan Rogue screws. There are a total of eight screws in total.

Fit - These rails are exactly what I was looking for. To make this work, no changes were required. It was also simple to set up. I used a 15 cubic foot cargo box on a trip from Phoenix to San Antonio this past Christmas, and the rails held up well through snow, ice, and rain without warping, bending, or adding any noticeable noise. I would recommend these bars to anyone who doesn't want to spend dealer money; These are an incredible deal, and they held up well to 100 pounds of luggage (distributed evenly, of course). The cargo box I put on it is a SportRack SR7040 15 cubic foot box that fits perfectly on the rails.
If you know what you're doing, a thread lock will help secure the bolts, which can be done in under 10 minutes if you know what you're doing. Each bar is equipped with four adjustable nuts. The front bar fit perfectly, but I had to loosen the rear bars before installing them. Finally, use the allen wrench to tighten it up, but don't overdo it.
In terms of installation ease, I found the majority of the reviews to be very accurate. I recommend that people thread all bolts loosely at first to allow for enough play and adjustment. If it weren't for a quality control issue, I would have given the product five stars. On the device, one of the holes had been soldered over. I considered returning it, but decided to punch it out and ream it with a screwdriver instead. br>br>Apart from that, it gives my 2017 Rogue's side rails an impressive amount of rigidity. I was able to set it up without interfering with happy hour; You may get different results.
